I went to the Russell Group Airshow in Niagara Falls Ontario on the weekend. Ed Russell owns the only flyable Bf-109E with an original Daimler Benz Engine. Saturday turned out too breezy for it to fly - being such a rarity, I'm sure they didn't want to take any chances with a possible accident on landing with a stiff cross wind.

Sunday, the wind died down and sure enough, they took it up and flew a bunch of passes, first with the Spitfire he also owns and then also with guests' Mustang, B17, and Dauntless.

Here are a few shots (jope this works as I haven't done this before). Unfortuntely I have none of the 109 flying. I was taking video the whole time. If I can transfer the video, I'll try to upload that.

Was anyone else there?

Beautiful shots! Wow they let you close!

I was there on Sunday but firmly planted behind the various fences. Also my point and shoot Canon camera is just not good enough for the demands of air show photography.

Here are some more. To get close, I sweet talked the guy at the VIP desk and he let me go in quick for some shots.
