That was pretty epic, sounds like they used the same voice actor for Cesare as they did for Francesco de'Pazzi... can't be sure though

The video isn't loading fully, but the music at the beginning sounds like Jesper Kyd's work... Armada Combat from TCOS soundtrack.

Maybe they took our "They should eat" comments too seriously http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_razz.gif

@Xanatos - Haha

OMG AGAIN!

The Guards are going to have guns??
That should be good. Will defnately make it fair fights haha. Maybe just a type of gaurd will have that. Two types of roof Guards (Archers and Shooters) sounds good.

When someone yells out 'Papal Guards' it sounds like 'PAPER CUTS!' lol

So is this the official trailer? Like the Venice one for AC2? I love the Ubisoft trailers because they look so realistic!

Love it that each assassin looks slightly different, but still look like the actual assassins (as opposed to the ones in AC2). Should be good. I'm wondering what the gameplay will be like in terms of AI assassins. Will they do their own thing, or will you be able to place them strategically like archers on roofs and balconies, and swords men in crowds? Gameplay videos should be good (when does E3 actually start?).

Also does anyone think Ezio is looking slightly fatter o_O or is it just his robes making him seem that way :-/
I know he's older but he shouldn't be fat..... should he?

That trailer is orgasmic! When Cesare yelled "Papal Guards" it would have been cool if Ezio yelled "Assassins!" but that wud hav gone against the whole stealthy creepy silenty thing.

once again the assassins make an epic fail in stealth. seriously what can be more suspicious than a group of people wearing a sort of uniform and hood similar to a historical group of people known for killing high ranking people in power?

i mean do assassins even know what blending in a crowd actually mean? casual civilian clothes with something to conceal weapons. something ezio's AC2 costume was half successful at (the hood in AC2 was still suspicous). on another note i think Ezio should have used the milanese sword rather the captain's sword.

things are looking optimistic for the game. hopefully the new elite guards are super skilled.

That's what I was thinking. Why in the hell is Borgia still alive and why does he still have the Papal staff? Unless Ezio took the real thing and the Vatican had to craft a new one. I couldn't view the whole trailer, only up to the part where the young guy (who looks like an older Vieri de Pazzi) called out the Papal guards.

This is a glorious day, first the HBO's Game of Thrones trailer and now this!

The AC cinematic trailers have always been extremely awesome, as is this one. Ubisoft marketing sure knows how and when to release pretty videos and screenshot but they can't really answer our questions. (Remember the darkness we were left with different PC editions and stuff.)

The young guy would be Cesare Borgia, Rodrigo's son and the game's main nemesis.

Xanatos2007

Ah yes, if there's one thing <STRIKE>Heckler & Koch</STRIKE>Ubisoft does well it's marketing. But they seem to spend more money & effort on it than actually making the game and releasing it on time, across all platforms... intact.

Where are the words? It is amazing that in less then a year Ubisoft can make yet another game with such stunning scenery. I agree with so many of you... it will be interesting to see how the gaps are filled from where the last game left off and find out why the paple (sp?) staff is not with the assassins. I also think it is wicked that the guards have guns...I wonder if they will be able to kill you with one shot. will make the game so much more difficult as we will have to be aware of all of our surroundings. I also think as someone said that it would be wicked if we could strategically place the other assassins. Though i think it interesting that the female assassin is not in the group. I wonder if you will only be able to access certain groups of assassins for certain missions. I am so excited and the day it arrives on my doorstep can not be soon enough. Keep the videos coming Ubi http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Hey you guys, I'm back! I never left it here - I simply stopped posting once everybody got their hands on ACII and the forum turned into a spam fest.

First off, I'd just like to point out that trailer has to be one of the best ones I've ever seen!

Second, It seems ACB is returning to the atmosphere of the first AC. That trailer had a rather dark tone to it (not coloration wise of course, but the music for instance was quite gloomy. The overall atmosphere of the trailer was pretty similar to that of the classic AAC1 trailer, which I'm sure everybody here is familiar with). I'd love to see that happen.

One last thing - Does Brotherhood have a single player mode?

That's not the point... they don't want to blend in, they want to be seen. They want their enemies to know who committed the crime, hence the white robes. What's the point of killing the guy if noone knows who did it? They're making a statement in the act to spread fear and doubt amongst their foes.

so I just bought and read the Xbox mag featuring ACB and it answers a lot of the question people have been asking. It looks like we will not only be able to choose where we want our merry group of assassins stationed but also what kinds of weapons and so on. Looks like we will finally get to ride our horses into the city and even have some battles with others on horseback. The article goes into a lot of detail about the fighting styles and possible story content, if you have not read the article I really suggest you do. Oh and Desmond will be back!!!!! I can not tell you how happy I am that Desmond will be back http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif They said he has a major part in the game and that the story takes some unthinkable turns.

On another note... The feather in the trailer. I know the significance from AC1. But in AC2 there was never any content that would suggest that Ezio would have an knowledge or practice of the whole kill enemy use feather as evidence thing...so do you think the feather will be making a reappearance in the ACB the same way as it did in AC1 or is there a new significance this time?

things are looking optimistic for the game. hopefully the new elite guards are super skilled. I think you fail to get that if it were as you describe, the game would be bland, boring and repetitious. The way they made it, you get to look cool in assassin garb and at the same time use stealth on some missions and open assault on others. The whole blending thing is not so much to LOOK like a civilian, but hide amongst them.

Do you honestly expect them to make an epic game like this with the main character wearing plain clothes for stealth missions and NEVER boldly attack in the open? It doesn't even make sense to call it Assassin's CREED if you don't at least on SOME missions have members of that creed to fight with, as well as other factions like Mercs.

Honestly, I think too many people get hung up n the stealth thing and act like the game makes no sense unless you're character is like a cat in the shadows all the time. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif

Wait what?
You called?

*ahem*
The sword's blade does share a great resemblance to a katana, and the the distinctive shape of the guard is definitely that of a tsuba, I honestly haven't heard much about Katanas appearing in Renaissance Italy, but this was also a time of mass trade between Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. And the Assassins probably have their connections, so its highly possible that they could be able to get their hands on such a weapon.
Lesson over!

Also, was anyone else fascinated with Cesare's hair in the trailer? It looked so realistic and swayed so nicely XD

He was also kind of attractive *COUGH* What?

My initial thought on seeing this video:

A: Ubi really do hype up go in for a load of BS (although so do all the other big publishers)

B: combat looks very hack and slash.

*EDIT: and if you dont believe the combat is hack and slash, stop watching the fight action itself and look at the fingers on the controller, note the rapid movement/clicking on the trigger button. Quite frankly it seems that while AI may be a little more aggressive the is destroyed by the fact combat becomes even easier and more brainless than in AC2, all I need do is click as fast as I can and I win, perhaps with the occasional change of direction/opponent.

I bet ubi weren't expecting people to notice, so sucked in for trying to give Sony a plug at the same time.

After seeing this trailer I feel that Ubisoft is making the game more "combat-style" thank "assassin-style". I think the gameplay should rather be "stab-and-fade" if you know what I mean http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif.

More stealth actions, less combat.

Actually my thoughts lately have been that in many respects AC combat is more like being an English knight than a real assassin. That's due to the fact its become much more offensive than defensive, I don't totally dislike it but it's hardly the sort of combat you'd expect from an assassin, so I totally agree with you.

In AC1 the combat was very defensive, in AC BH it seems it might be going totally the other way and be too heavily offensive. Ubisoft need to realise that the problems with AC2 combat were not down to its style of offensive or defensive combat, but in the dumb AI and its ability to react, and I say again its lack of difficulty levels making it impossible to cater to everyones likes/dislikes in combat.

A suggestion would be that I remember in older versions of MIght and Magic RPG when creating your game it would ask if you wanted to play as an adventurer or warrior, which basically tried to alter the amount of combat for different tastes. Why not implement a similar thing in AC allowing players some ability to customize combat, eg my choices would be, offensive, defensive, combo/mix of both, this would adjust AI in an attempt to cater to each players tastes.

In the end though my suggestion is really just another way of saying why don't we have difficulty settings.

This might work well, but...

Another way of doing this is reducing open combat with guards to minimum (in my opinion in ACII there were too many situations where you were forced to fight your way through many guards).

So giving player an option to pass the game killing only targets or, if it was required, guards but with assassin knife, not with sword, would resolve the problem.

I also find the combat in AC 1 more assassinesque than the one seen here. But the thing is that this only one trailer and we really can’t judge too much based on just that. Now they wanted to show us the fighting moves, so maybe next time will focus on stealth aspects.

What is more, from the AC 1 trailers I watched I got a clear impression of hit-and-run assassinations. And what we got in the game? Much too often the main target would just start fighting with you. (Of course this can also be related to my skills in the game e.g. not a clear kill before he sees me…) And the funny thing is that this was done way better in AC 2. So I disagree with Puczu here, I think that there were less fighting through hordes of enemies in AC 2 compared to AC 1. I liked the assassinations much more because the target would flee. But all in all I’m just trying to say that we shouldn’t fool ourselves and get the wrong picture by staring at just one video

But still I have to admit that the AC 1 fighting feels more like the assassins way for me… Even Rauf, the fighting trainer at Masyaf, yelled something like “ Don’t attack too often, it’ll only slow you down.” to his students.

Does anyone know if there will be online free roam or just objective type game modes?

I have to agree with the liking of the AC1 combat more. Sometimes it was a downright pain when multiple guards would attack as opposed to 2's 'take a ticket, wait in line to die' groups that came around. In addition to the fighting with the other 'classes' of assassins, I hope there's a small chance we can use Antonio and his group as well. I'm also hoping the feather in the trailer isn't a hint that there's more of the buggers to collect...

Otherwise, I'm absolutely loving the small things on this. The rendering upgrade has seemingly fixed a few things with the faces and I'm very excited to see the textiles much more clearly. It looks like the assassin's have been doing a little Byzantinian trading with the uses of samite and the other fabrics I've seen so far. Very nice.

That is one of the best trailers ever! Absolutely wonderful. I only wish the graphics were that good in the game. Imagin that. Or at least better than they were in AC2. But looking at the various videos out there, it sadly, doesn't appear so.

I really like how they've kept the eagle symbolism from AC1.

And it looks as though there will be lots of ways to kill (from other videos). That trailer looks like slashing because you simply have to fight your way through all the guards that are attacking the city.

I also agree the combat mechanics are better in AC1, I'm virtually a master at counter attacks, but in AC2 counter attacks seem real sluggish and sometimes it's like the attack key does not respond.

Btw, the feather is how the assassins collect some blood from their victim, if you watch the cutscenes upon the death of the victim the assassin will stroke the feather through the blood.

I hope not because to be honest I haven't finished collecting the first lot, been playing other games and waiting for Ubi to make it possible to replay missions.

AC finishes at 1502.. So how does Brotherhood start exactly after AC2 stopped.
Since you start in 1499 in brotherhood and Cesare has the apple... http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_confused.gif

They mean after the small beginning of AC:B, it then officially starts after AC2..

I like it, his new armor looks sweet.
Also, I am soooo excited for the feature of sending assassin trainees into different parts of Europe for contracts.

Oh, I'm entirely aware of the eagle feathers. I'm talking about seeing Petruccio's cherubic face saying how he has a surprise for later.
