IL2 is one of those sims that drives me wild...I' just love it...same effects that Grand Prix Legends delivers to me..

I love realism and I wouldn't fly with the icons on my map (I've reeeally appreciated the deeper realism options on FB http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif...

but...I'm still flying with IL2 and I want to end the russian campaign and attempt the German one....I just wanna explore IL2 at its maximum...son FB is still far away http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

but...

I miss something a lot...

the communication with my team mates...many times I loose contact with them (engagin...recon..etc etc-.) and I'm not able to find them anymore...even following the waypoints on the map,,,

and I just cannot understand when the radio says "Where the hell are u?" if he's talkin' to me or not...I've noticed the Russian Channel is global...and I get even the comms between some other squadroons....

this doesn't help me a lot http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

In real life I guess every pilot knows more or less is his position (like "I'm flying over Smolensk" ) and I'd rather get towards it...

I miss a more complete kind of communication...

now the question is

HOW DO YOU DO WITH THIS THING? http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif)

how do you get in touch with your M8s...how do you find them....how do u etc tec...

Am I missin something ?

thanx guys...

I just want to get the most from this wonderful, fascinating simulation http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

in the original IL2 I can't even keep up with my wing - usually during the mix I lose them and then I find them again after the fight. BUT I do use icons on the map. Really I don't think you have to find them to get a successful mission. I've gotten banged up enough in battle that I had to bail early and head back to base. As long as the objectives get complete. W T H cares where your wing is??

This is the hardest thing to do. The best is to engage autopilot and let it find your buddies.

Don't pay too much attention when someone yells at you that you are off-course, the AI wingleader is over-sensitive. In real-life, most of the planes had radio's and could communicate with eachother so, the lost sheep could return to its flight.

1 Judge not, that ye be not judged.
2 For with what judgment ye judge, ye
shall be judged: and with what
measure ye mete, it shall be
measured to you again.

Eastern Skies have some nice maps you can print out. Grease pencil in the route, follow the landmarks, and find your boys along the route. By the end of the campaign, you'll be leader and they'll come find you. -jim-
