The pencil has been removed as it's flight and damage model are being updated, apparently it's roll rate was way off, it MAY be added at a later date

Wow. I, for one, cannot wait for this plane http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

(Looks like a tough modelling job. Would it ever have happened if UBI hadn't accidentally listed it on the box, I wonder? (Not that it WILL happen, necessarily...))

In response, YES they did! The important thing to remember is that Japanese fighters and bombers did not have standardized panels in many cases. The position of the instruments varied somewhat between different production batches and the facilities that they were produced at. This included routing of fuel and hydraulic lines as well as control linkages.

Simply awesome! I cannot wait to fly this one. Will certainly add some fun in the servers using Pacific maps.

Actually Japanese aircraft had cushions and 'seat back armors' and 'leather/swoven canvas belts' that are either not modeled or not included in the planes that we have. Some fighter planes though only had a bottom formed cushion with no back cushion since that purpose is serevd by the parachute. On bombers though the cushions are almost always there. The deep seated well on japanese aircrafts almost always had cushions that you tie on the metal chairs.

Looks amazing & I'm sure some of the more talented online pilots will actually survive in this thing somehow! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

But it takes talented onwhine players to offer bomber escort. Pit looks fantastic, and looks like Fun indeed!!!

So where are all those Betty Whiners from "2 weeks" ago?

Hehehe....I'll be flying it as I tend to fly Japanese for odds prefering to be on the underdogs side, now really liking many of the planes though very fragile.

Are some of you forgetting...This thing is a torch waiting to be lit...and look at those "Lewis" guns....lmao...

Oh my lord I'm doomed, yet excited http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

Will be interesting to see all the fighters in a frenzy when a Betty shows up online. They'll be tripping over each other to get to the flying gas tank. I'm sure that the 20mm tail gunners will get a few over eager fighters, but it'll take a special kind of person to fly the Betty.

Just baffles the imagination that the IJN never put self sealing tanks in these things.

Cool pic. Check out this little 1.03mb video clip.

Right click and select Save Target As.
Maybe in ten years this will be the way we enter and leave our virtual aircraft.

Did the pilot fly the Betty from the right seat? That one shot's view is from the traditional co-pilot's seat.

My thoughts exactly. We Pigs have been flying Japanese a lot of late to keep the teams a little more even, so I have been flying a lot of flammable objects. (The IJAAF types are a little better in this regard.) The Betty will be a welcome change from the D3A, if only that I will get to my demise sooner... The Val is such a dog....
