Hello gents,

I've decided to put together something new for anyone who wishes to become a better fighter pilot. Over the past few years I've made several tracks available for public download to help less experienced pilots learn new things. A magnitude of such tracks can be found at my website, http://www.dreyermachine.com/il2/.

Yesterday I flew and recorded a sortie in the AM6 (Zero) against mainly P-40's. I'm now in the process of creating an audio commentary that goes along with the track, which will explain the action as it takes place. I will do my best to teach you how to avoid common mistakes and make the right choices when flying air combat in IL2.

The track and audio commentary will cover:
- Common misconceptions in regards to air combat.
- Tactical advice for flying the AM6 (zero).
- How to properly manage your energy.
- Decision making, help you make the correct decisions in air combat.
- ...and anything else that might be of use.

I hope to finish and release this audio commentary & track sometime tonight. Stay tuned.

I look forward to it http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

This reminds me of the training videos provided by Dart. While videos are more entertaining, the .ntrk tracks are better for analysis, since you can see the same story from different angles (e.g., use of controls during a manouver).

However, the post-edited audio is cheating. We can be smartasses afterwards. The real thing would be to hear your commentary during your combat. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

On the funny side, if I were to record any track for educational purpose, this would be my commentary:

Common misconceptions in regards to air combat?
NOOBIES CAN WIN AGAINST ACES.
HEAD-ONS CAN BE WON 51% OF THE TIME.
BOMBERS ARE BEST ATTACKED FROM 6 O'CLOCK.
BOOM AND ZOOM CURES EVERY COMBAT PROBLEM.

Tactical advice for flying the AM6 (zero).
NEVER GET IN FRONT OF ANY GUN OR YOU'LL BURN LIKE A TORCH.

How to properly manage your energy.
MAXIMUM POWER, DO NOT TURN.

Decision making, help you make the correct decisions in air combat.
JUST DECIDE SOMETHING, YOU WILL SEE IF IT WAS CORRECT LATER ON.

- ...and anything else that might be of use.
WHAT TO DO, IF THE MISSION BUILDER FORGOT TO TICK THE "PARACHUTE" ON MY AIRFIELD, AND MY PLANE IS BURNING ALREADY? ANY WAY TO PUT OUT THE FIRE SOMEHOW (BESIDES DITCHING)?

I don't think I would be able to do a commentary while I was actually flying. I'm far too focused to be able to make much sense while in a combat situation. Of course when watching the track it is much easier to provide the correct commentary, but it will still be educational.

Hahahaha, yeah that would be hilarious. I especially liked:

Decision making, help you make the correct decisions in air combat.
JUST DECIDE SOMETHING, YOU WILL SEE IF IT WAS CORRECT LATER ON.

So sad but so true to most online pilots!

I would also add;

Proper conduct online:
LEARN HOW TO PROPERLY STEAL KILLS ONLINE, DON€T BE A *****!
L33t SPEAK WILL MAKE YOU AN ACE
SHOOT FRIENDLIES, JUST TO KEEP THEM ON THEIR TOES
MARKINGS ARE FOR WHIMPS

I was not able to completely finish the aduio commentary yesterday, it took way more time than expected. It will be finished when I return from work today, however.

Haha http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif Maybe I can try. But I without practice I won't be able to fly as well with TR4 as with the keypad.
