I wonder if that futuristic twist they talked about at the end means anything or not...?

What if...an assassin from the future is sent to the past to change it <___< http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Quote from IGN
His allegiance appears to lie solely to his clan, who takes contracts to assassinate figures on both sides in an attempt to end the massive war.

What if ones that hire those assassinations play a major role in this game, that could possibly be revealed in the near end? http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/shady.gif

Ooh, this is getting interesting ^___^

What if it is a kind of droid.. Terminator-wise?http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-indifferent.gif
I mean, normal people don't have distorted vision right?

The mob proves to be too much even for this capable killer. Altair fights bravely but is knocked from his feet as he attempts to flee (the faster you move, the more you stand to lose balance). Strangely, as he takes damage, the screen starts to distort. And when he finally dies, the screen fades out entirely, to reveal...a computer heads-up display. System offline. What...the...

This is the most interesting part... http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/shady.gif

I wonder what the hell is really going on in this game... >_>

And I like the part where it's said that Altair loses his balance if he runs too fast... O.o

Maybe that the end of the game will have a huge twist! The hero actually coming from the future to attempt to put a stop to the stupidity of the church's power over the civilians and eventually interrupting the crusades (although the twist will hopefully be more elaborate ^^).

Anyways, the game really looks like it's gonna be simply great (if UBI is right with it being like PoP, just more open-ended)
I also hope they reveal a bit more during the E3 (which is done on friday right?), although since it's due for PS3, they might not show more yet.

Let's cross our fingers that it comes out for PC too.

"Nothing is true. Everything is permitted." That is the assassins' creed, suggesting that anything is possible given the proper frame of mind.

This in itself is the best description ever of what this game promises and the kind of freedom of decisions you are allowed to make in it http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif Just like it says in the following quote:

But you don't need to keep it cool if you don't want to. Altair can draw attention to himself by shoving civilians out of his way forcefully, or by acting in any other aggressive of suspicious manner. Whether you want to blend into the background or act all macho, Assassin's Creed seems to let you.

That's going to be sooooo exciting to try all possible ways in which you can move through the crowd and deal with the various consequences http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif Not to mention watching the reactions of the crowd as depicted:

Watching the populace's reactions to the main character was really special. Characters would visibly frown or raise their eyebrows as Altair jumped around and like a madman in their vicinity. And when he took a swing at a random civilian, genuine panic ensued.

This is going to be soooooo good http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gifhttp://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif
I already can't wait to see more about this game http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif
Not to mention the screenies look simply amazing http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/clap.gif

You'll note in the E3 trailer that in the beginning there's a brief sequence of images with "loading" written on them and that at the cathedral in the end the screen flutters and skips frames.

Hmm... could it be a futuristic Prince of Persia. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif All this talk of the future and reversing time reminds me so much of the Prince.

Look at y'all. Speculating as to what the futuristic theme could mean.
Myself? I don't want to go near that. This game is meant to be original, so, naturally, I don't want to be thinking it's ripping off The Crow or Terminator.
I just think the bird is his signature...like a pet...or even, like that guy on The Mummy Returns who has the bird. Like that. Nothing magical like he can turn into a bird. I mean, seriously, now.
As for the futuristic element...I don't want to delve into that. Everything leads me to aliens or Terminator...neither of which I like.

Yes, the only mention of the future I want to see is the ending and possible clue to what happens to the Holy Land after the assinations or major events.

I want this game to be about in the same time period as around 1191 A.D. give or take a few years. I do't want this game going any father than that. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-indifferent.gif

I don't want this game to rip POP in time power ways. Actauully I don't want this game to be anythnig hardly like SOT WW or TTT if at all possible. I want this game to be unique. It should be special in it's own wayhttp://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif.

I'm finding by the pics and such this game is looking very promising.

I think this storyline will have some major storytwists in the game.

oh god i hope there is'nt any futuristic element to this game, if there is i will still love it, and im sure ubisoft could pull off such a storyline but my respect for it would be greatly reduced

people calm down! thats YOUR TV shutting down effect!
when Altair dies, game ends, your screen shuts down. as you are watching the "movie" and it ends...

hope you understand it.or.wait!. its a MATRIX!

I just hope with the whole "Modern Day GTA" thing that dosent include the prostitutes and horrific crimes that you could pull off.

I see this as less of a GTA and more of like playing Elder Scrolls 4 Oblivion as a member of the Dark Brotherhood. You CAN go all bloodthirsty and killing everything, but you will get in trouble for it.

It's a sad example if users on this forum just like to bump 2+ year old topics and spam them.

Yes, this is a good reality check to keep our hopes from getting too high for AC2. That article could almost be describing AC2 if it wasn't for the locale and main character. As good as AC1 was (one of my favourite games), it wasn't as good as what gamespot wrote there.

I'm considering cutting myself off from AC2 news. I went into the first game with very little knowledge of what to expect/preconception, which may be why I enjoyed it so much.

Yeah, it's the danger of the hypefactory.
Of course, as was apparent in my thread, if you mention AC1 was anything less than the holy grail of gaming, you'll get flamed here.

Well as interesting as rehashing the past might be, bumping + spam = closed thread.
