Hello IL-2 FB Community,

It is my pleasure to announce a new modeling team that will bring you some very cool and well done aircraft to IL-2 Forgotten Battles! The name of this team is the Omega Squadron. So why the funky name you ask? Why not we say!

The goal of the team is to finish several 3D models that have been started and have a good chance at being included in FB before the modeling deadline expires. When exactly they will be done is unknown, but every effort will be made to finish them as quickly as possible.

The team includes several hard working members from this community and we are joining forces to get the job done. At this time we are not taking any new members or new model requests. We are confident that we have all the tools and skill-sets necessary to be successful.

The Omega team is:

Halfwit
Burnin
Harti
Adlabs6
Jagdmailer
CanonUK

The aircraft we will be finishing are:

Do-217 e-2
Do-217 K-1
He-177 A-5 Grief
Beaufighter Mk. I
Beaufighter Mk. IIF
Beaufighter Mk. VI
Typhoon Mk. IA
Typhoon Mk. IIB Early
Typhoon Mk. IIB Late
Lancaster Mk. I
Lancaster Mk. II
Lancaster Mk. III

All of these aircraft will be AI except maybe the Beaufighter which may get a cockpit eventually.

[edit]The Typhoon may have a chance, but we haven't dived into the details yet. I do know that the Beau has a better chance based upon the reference material we have and the time restraints we are working under. At least the Tempest we know will be flyable.

Our little website to show progress shots is located here:
http://777AVG.com/omegasquad

Wish us luck. We have a lot of work to do.

Regards,
Omega Squadron

I'm glad to see that there is this level of cooperation amongst you guys, hopefully it brings you success.

On the name however, you sound like one of those cheezy weekend cartoon shows from the 80's /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

Please, try the Typhoon, if not for next addon, at least for an upcoming one. It is so important, and I love this aircraft.
I know there are a lot of information on the cockpit on the web, and some museum have preserved Typhoons.
If needed, I have a lot of cockpit photos, but I think they are known.

I can only speak for myself when I say "Thank You all!"

The effort is appreciated. If there is any information or help I can provide, please don't hesitate to let me know.

p.s. I know the "flyable" B-17 isn't on your list, but was wondering if you or anyone else could expand on why. I know there are plenty of cockpit pics and interior pics available to accomplish the task and the popularity of the bird is second to only a few. (If it's merely waiting for the BoB release then disregard /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif )

Thanks for the support everyone. Look for updated pics on the Omega Website soon.

BV

P.S. with regards to the B-17. The models that are being worked on here are the work of 2 men. Halfwit and in a smaller role Harti. These are the planes that they started. We have nothing to do with the gentlemen who did the B-17 as AI. I would assume those folks would be responsible for the B-17 cockpit not us. Sorry.
