View Full Version : Timecompressing (8x, 4x, 1/2 speed), should be optional

i have been playing the USSR fighter campaign for a while now (44 missions 102 kills) and i use the time compressor feature thing (8x time etc). i have almost full real, but i have discovered you can make it way much easier to hit if you turn down the time to 1/4 of normal. This gives you much more time to get a good shot, especially when you have little ammo and only use keyboard. Even if you have full real on you can do this. Imagine how easy it is for bombers to hit their targets when everything happens 1/4 of normal time! This is not realistick at all, and it makes it easy to kill many more than you would have without it (offcourse, i dont havent used this in my campaign, i wont do it in the future either) Making everything go faster, such as 8x and 4x is ok, I would even say its crucial for the game to work without boring the crap out of people. But 1/2 and 1/4 speed .. no. What do you guys think about it? I think it should have been some options in the difficulty section for this, maybe you can do this in the next patch?

dont do it.

simple as that.

no one is forcing you too.

waste of time incorporating an option for it

I've seen normal people. I wasn't impressed.

I don't understand your point. You're not in multiplayer game, where there is the problem of "fair play" and maps with "locked difficulty settings".

Well, nobody orders you to use time compression or how to use it, during Single Mission Campaigns.

I think that my other thread: "more Time Compression requested" is much more useful.

You may as well unbind these commands. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

No, but if you maybe are comparing your campaigns against other friends you can "cheat" with this. Uhh uuuhh uuhh i got 4543 kills uuh uuh . forget it. you dont understand

yep, i understand...

indeed, the time compression should be entitled a switch in the difficulty panel, if only for the slow option...

I don't compare kills in single player...I compare the fact that I survived past the first 10 missions.

What the heck is the difference if its a toggle switch before you start the game in single player? If you are going to cheat yourself, you will just switch it before the game anyway.

Just don't do it, Simple as that! You are only cheating yourself.

The argument that you cant compare kills with others fairly doesnt matter either. The only way would be to eliminate it from the game entirely. I wouldnt want that either because it is useful for training purposes to calculate deflection and practice formation flying.

Who is actually doing the fighting in 1/2 or 1/4th speed? I don't. I totally ruins game[play and it makes you suck in Online.

I bet you wouldn't have that many kills at "normal speed".....

If it ain't broke - don't mend it.

Going faster - well, that relieves the bordom getting to the action.

Going slow - well, that's for training, and good - maybe - for movies.

Most people learn better when using normal speed.

yep, i have never touched a stick, or; once and i find it better really when it comes to dogfighting but i believe its better to aim with a stick
