Best looking?

Ki-61. Looks great, but to me it also has the easiest to read instruments and a fairly good outside view ( with TIR )

Fw-190 _looks_ the best probably.

Mig-3 is nice too.

SBD-3 and Val. Love the Val's pit.

I like the Messerschmitt Bf-110, even the rear gunner has plenty of gauges, and the quality for the chair is beautiful.

Ki-27, even though I can't read any of the letters on the gauges. It all looks like Chinese or something.

Oleg plz run spellcheck.

Tempest is real pretty if you look forwards. Look back and it is a hopeless display of anti-logic with regards to the size of the armor plate. 5/10

some of the more recently added cockpits are done in really beautiful artwork.
IL10,262,Mig9,FW190D,Tempest,Bf110,DO335,(I really think the Gladiator is some fine work)...

Thats not to say these are the airplanes I fly the most or who's layout I prefer...
Its just based on artwork. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I like the TB-3! It feels like I am piloting a yatch! The doorway and the steering with wheels! And open top too! And because it is big and stable, its easy to fly it in nose gunner view (one hand on mouse and other on stick).

The Do-335 feels very 'modern' by WW2 standards. Good visibility too.

I like the 'Glass nose' effect of the Ar-234 as well. Its cluttered and the yoke blocks the instruments but somehow it feels nice and cosy rather then cramped.

Hate all the Fw-190s. Feels like you are sitting too low, the dash blocks your view.

If only there was a B-29 cockpit! The glass nose and rows and rows of instruments would be cool for dawn missions with instrument lights on.

Well if speaking of "skinning/modelling quality".....All I'll say to that is that since the J8 came online it has quite simply gotten better and better the MC200-205 testament to that....So many of the newer planes are simply stunning as to quality, and some of the old though not skinned as well have some neat items (ever turn on cockpit lights in the zero, and see the map lights beam vibrate?)

If you're talking real life, it's simply hard to beat the Ki-61 & Ki-43.....The reason I use those two is there is a cast difference between radial and inline/water cooled engines on controls needed.........Both however are absolutly straight forward, large gauges and levers, and so logically laid out you almost reflexively look to the right area...Just seems right http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif ....What is missing from many of the planes that IS valuable are ammo counters. Granted, you just have a feeling, trouble is in the heat of action you lose yourself and "feelings" often can't be trusted.

The J8A Gladiator's cockpit is rendered beautifully in game, it's simply gorgeous.

The TB3 is great, too. Has anyone else noticed the pencil in the bombardier's compartment rolls on the table when you bank the wings?

Mig-3 for me. Any other cockpit feels cramped, I love the spaciousness http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif Although IL-2 annoys me in that it hides...I think it's the compass, I don't remember, underneath the gunsight. Nomatter how you set your view, the gunsight blocks the instrument under the gunsight from view (like I said, pretty sure it's the compass, but I haven't played in awhile).

I fly it all the time, so I have grown more accustomed to it, but I still love the Tempest. It is beautifully done.

Me110 is a pure joy to fly because of the cockpit.

Most well done I think is Gladiator cockpit, other nice pits are Do335,Tempest,Macchi,Ar234 and my personal pick the Ta152C.

Japanese pits would be in the top 10 although they`re ugly by definition.
