I've checked the internet, and TigerDirect.com amd Newegg.com seem to have competitive and the lowest price for the ViewSonic 20" LCD monitor. $669.87 and $674.99 (shipping included in both). Has anyone ordered from either of these companies and are there any pros or cons I should know before doing business?

Newegg.com RULES! I have ordered from them many many times and never dissapointed. Standard shipping is about 2 days usually for me and customer support is excellent. But dont take my word for it read the reviews.

Go with Newegg. I have ordered many things from them and always loved their customer service. I stay far away from tigerdirect, I personally have never ordered from them, but I have heard from many people that they have some pretty shaddy rebate policys and are known pretty poor customer service.

Tiger Direct charges taxes if you reside in FL, Ill. or NC.

Newegg charges if you are in Ca.

Since I live in Florida, I just have alwas avoided Tiger Direct. I have compared their prices to newegg and usually, Tiger is overpriced, but in this case they actually are selling it for less. Other then usually being overpriced for what they sell, I have never heard people having a problem with Tiger Direct, but I have never persoanlly done bussiness with them.

I have bought probably $7,000 worth of stuff from newegg through the years on many many different orders and I have never had anything but a great buying experience with them. if it is listed as being in stock on their site when you order, you can be assured that they do actually have it in stock (I have had a few places list in stock, I order and 2 weeks later I call and ask why they haven't shipped only to find out they didn't actually have it in stock....never had that happen with newegg) and shortly after placing your order, they will check your credit card and once that clears they will ship it asap. Very prompt on orders and great customer service. No hesitation recommending them.

I get all my stuff from Tiger Direct Canada.
Great outfit, and avoid import duties.

Same here, Tiger Direct Canada RULES!

I hate getting the catalouge each month though, I always spend way too much on the great deals they have.

I hear great things about Newegg, but I live in NJ and you have to pay tax here, along with CA. I have ordered many times from ZipZoomFly and have been very happy. Usually (almost all) items have free 2nd day air and prices are often lower than Newegg. I have bought RAM, motherboard, CPU, video card, cooler, power supply, etc. all from ZZF and have been very impressed, plus I always get my items in 2 to 3 days max, which is nice (and free). Also, this isn't some overnight business, they are one of the bigger ones around AFAIK.

Newegg, has great deals and great service, BTW, Tigerdirect is right down the street from me...so... I just walk in and get what I need. It's also a great place, with great deals.

In case you haven't gone to resellerratings yet:

Newegg - 9.54 out of ten possible

TigerDirect - 7.30 out of ten possible.

They've worked on customer service I guess; their rating used to be lower than that even.

I used to order from TD, but I haven't since I discovered Newegg.

Before going anywhere else I'd look at http://www.magnum-pc.com , which also happens to be run by a member of our happy little community (Hunter82).

But as far as your question,
Newegg is awesome, Tiger direct is OK. I only order from Tiger if they have something noone else does, otherwise it's newegg, even it cost a little mroe, which it never does. If you have any troubles Tigerdirect becomes a pain fast.

I use zip zoom fly.

They seem to be a little bit cheaper than New Egg and usually better on shipping.Deals are to be had if you look around on each.

Newegg screwed me on my last order of 2 DVD drives that were supposed to come with drivers, install disks, cables etc. etc. Instead they sent me two generic drives with no drivers or install disks like listed on theire site, packaged in yet another generic box. Atleast they had courtesy to put styrofoam popcorn in that...Reteurned them and went to Tiger Direct. Usually never have a problem with newegg, but when i called them they didn't even try to rectify the prob, so ~f~ em! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/51.gif

Swivet, may I suggest that you post your experience at Resellerratings? There is a very good chance that someone from Newegg will contact you once they read the negative rating.
