View Full Version : this is what i dont like about the il2 series

the forward view is porked because the pilot cant rise his head

the rear view is porked because the pilot cant lean his head

planes dispear at midle range against the ground ant at long range against the horizon

the g2 has a rear panel that blocks your back view but if you look the plane from outside that panel isnt there so why they put it

in the g6,g10,g14 and k shift+f1 wont unblock the bars like in the rest of planes

i cant stand uber planes like ki la and late yaks

the trim cant be used to get off of high speed dives like real pilots did

in some planes like la late yaks and all biplanes in a levelled turn the planes wont stall with flaps and the joystick fully pulled (ive been for more than five minutes with these planes against the same plane with the joystick fully pulled in the same position turning and turning, it just sucks)

i cant understand how they havent implemented the game with a radio feature to talk in multiplayer mode with other players when most servers include it, if everybody wants radio why they dont give us radio?

the freezing in multiplayer sucks and i remember cfs2 and fighter ace (with hundreds of players in the same room) not having this problem at all

this critic intends to be helpfull to the ubi team, they have the best WWII simulator but it still can be much better

Wrong forum mate. Olegs readyroom is better.

These things have been vented there many times before.
----------------------------------------------
0. U get used to the views.

1. Bf 109's have its advantages and disadvantages just like the other planes.

2 Late Ki's and yaks were very good historically its well documented.
The late russians kicked @ss at the end.
The early yaks have problems that 109's can exploit but almost any plane with an initial angle on the other have a good chance of winning the fight. Thats why a hurricane may shoot a 109 down although it has inferior overall performance compared.

3 I have used trim to get out of too steep dives many times...I dont know how it compares with real life though.

4 Some planes are hard to stall and spin and were in RL. Its possible to stall all planes in FB though as in RL.

5 There is a radio feature but TeamSpeak and others work better. Try it. Then U only need a headset and u are go...

6 Occasional Stutters and pauses are something u have to live with but there are things u can do. Check settings ,Ram, Graphicscard and internet connection.
Im on the low end but with an ADSL connection and I think it works great most of the time.
I will never go back to CFS....

that is called an armour plate, to protect ur head of the enemy fire the G2 is a model that dates from the original Il2, so the details aren't comparable to recent introduced models.

yes it does, but not to easy, since it was used in some "not that good" purpose by some online cheaters.

in fact, FB has a "radio" feature, just it doesn't work... u can always use TeamSpeak or Ventrilo with very good results.

quote:
the freezing in multiplayer sucks and i remember cfs2 and fighter ace (with hundreds of players in the same room) not having this problem at all

what connection do u have, and does the settings u play the game on, are low enough for ur system?
CFS2 supported hundreds of players in a server? WOW, i'm surprised, i've never played any of the two, but it sound interesting.

There is a radio feature, but no one uses it.

Some planes used trim to recover high speed dives, others did not.

The P-47 instructions state to reduce power immediatly, and as the air thickened, the critical Mach changed and the compressibilty went away. Trimming out was dangerous because of the sudden pullout it might produce once the plane was out of compressiblity, blacking out the pilot.

quote:
in the g6,g10,g14 and k shift+f1 wont unblock the bars like in the rest of planes

Try changing the FOV.

quote:
i cant stand uber planes like ki la and late yaks

So don't fly them. It gives me great satifaction to shoot them down when flying a Fw or a P-47.

quote:
the g2 has a rear panel that blocks your back view but if you look the plane from outside that panel isnt there so why they put it

You're flying a different game/sim than IL2. There is clearly a armored headrest behind the pilot, in both pit and external. Are you just making stuff up now?

A critique` is one thing, talking about stuff that ain't so is another. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/51.gif

I think you're refering to the Gaming Zone containing hundreds of players. The 'zone' had seperate games each carrying maximum of 32 players and I know from experience the lag would often become intolerable with over 6-8 players. Fighter Ace is a subscription game, so obviously, dedicated servers. Also both games are antiquated and do not compare to IL2/FB in the least.

You can stall any plane, including Yak's, in a tight turn with the joystick fully pulled back. It depends on speed...the Yak's have poorer high speed elevator control so you may not be able to induce a stall by over controlling the elevator but it doesn't mean you can't stall it out.

One time in gym class we tied Billy Elder's shoelaces together really, really tight and he couldn't get them untied and it was a hot summer day near the end of school so he couldn't get across the street because the road was too hot for bare feet so he put on the shoes and spent the rest of the day hopping from class to class and the strange thing was that nobody thought anything was odd because Billy was a strange dude anyway - later he bacame a cop and got kicked off the force because he was unusually rough with the prisoners; I think it was because he couldn't get his shoelaces untied. Okay?

Raaaid you can have my old copy of CFS3 if I can find it near the manure pile. Maybe it's time you tried something new. The CFS3 forum is a very happy contented lot of peeps too. I'm sure you'd fit right in. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif

probably most of you are such bad pilots that dont realize these problems (if you play tags on no wonder you dont mind the planes disapering for example)

if you had only played cfs3 probably you would be saying hey the game is perfect dont complain about it

in the future there will be sims with moveable head, thats for sure, because of whinning and because is the only way to solve the problems of view

in fact pf incorporates a higher pilot position for the corsair (remember the whinning about the forward view of the fw), the funny thing is that they forgot to model the nose of the plane for this view

the manners in which people answer to this critics only reafirms the way most people play (stealing kills, going 5 to 1, shooting parashooters in western front, crashing planes against bombers, only atacking busy targets, vultures, bad loosers, etc

if cfs 3 incorporated cockpit on servers, moveable head within the cockpit and a mouse view i would forget about pf and bob because i never flew a WWII as to say wich flying model is better

if you say you can stall a la7 flaps on in a levelled turn pulling the stick fully you just havent tried it because you cant

if the ubi team consider my critics bull**** what i dont think so im sure that some other developer drops by this forum and see how they can beat ubi with a better game by using the opinions of the customers

everybody agrees that the fw forward view is porked and who argue this is an ignorant, i want it solved so i complain, if they dont solve it im sure some other company will solve it, its a matter of time

although i like flying axis i dont like their ideas and although you dont like it look at me here with freedom of speech

Like your first post, if you don't like the uber planes like La, Yak, K4, Ta, don't fly them. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

Got track? And is this the same sort of whine about the G2 armor plate? Try turning the pit on once in awhile. It's clearly there in external. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

General statements, with no proof don't usually get much notice. There are members of this community who have dedicated a large amount of time and effort to help improve this sim/game. You offer nothing but whines. "Other" developers have had 3 years to outdo Oleg. Still waiting, and from the initial reports, PF is another winner. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/11.gif

Most of what you wrote is a whine, with a smattering of tidbits most already know. Either your just trying to give your troll post more life, or you're trying to change things with nothing to back it up, you have been rather less than successful at both. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/34.gif Good luck, and

You're absolutely right mate! Let's start a petition to rewrite history and eliminate any and all evidence that the Yak or LA ever existed.

If that's not possible, let's pressure Oleg to make them something they're not.

Or, maybe the real solution is to either leave servers where others are flying them, fly them ourselves, or learn how to deal with them.

By the way notice my handle. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif
