Finally I decided to ask you veterans
(despite previous posts in forum):
- where are liners ?
I found just one US (neutral) in the beginning of war at convoy close to UK coast.
Do you have any tips or regions ?
Are they sailing alone or only in convoys ?

It can depend on what Mods you have sometimes. They are a rare thing in the stock game.

That said, look around the central BE squares as they sail across from America to the UK.

I find them mainly in their own, but have seen a few in convoys. Hope that helps!

Single merchant route at the top adjoining grid squares of grids BE and BF. They are not common but will be identified (if at all) by a contact marked as "fast".

One set of adjoining grid squares down on a North West heading are the fast tanker lanes from the Carribean.

From time to time a Fiji group or such will pop up too.

Dangers are multiple unit aircraft patrols, single DD/DE's and hunter groups based around 4 to 5 DD/DE's. Don't take them lightly if you play DiD!

I run 1.4, no mods.

I've only seen one in the Mediterranean, in a convoy. The rest were in convoys in AM 51,52,53 squares on the West side of Britain. I sank 4 in total there, one in one career, 3 in another. Btw, they are MUCH easier to hit when in a convoy, since they go slow. But my last one was not in a convoy, but going at a reasonable 13 knots (from my speed calculation http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif )

A few careers ago I ran into convoys just north west of Ireland that always had liners in them. In fact they had liners often enough that I know that they alternated between US and British liners. The time was 40-41.

I haven't had much luck in finding them latly but then I tend to keep my sub farther out to see nowadays.

Im on my 3rd career, and I encountered a liner on my 2nd career. I found it alone in the SE corner of BE13 or BE15, I dont remember. And it was sailing at around 9 knots
