Yes, ingame K-14 is wrong. You can clearly see TWO collimator lenses (like having two aiming sights really close together, both using the same reflecting glass, and the aiming reticle can only appear above one of them and not in between, like we have in PF. Left one was for air to air combat and worked like it works in PF. Right one was for air ground gunnery, and was a different shaped reticle. We don't have this one in PF.

So, in a nutshell: head should be moved just a bit left for air to air reticle, and a bit right for air to ground reticle.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

At the moment I have 190's Red 13 and 23, 109's Emil and F4 and Me-262 Red 13.

I would like to get a skin for his planes while he served in Africa, but if anyone has any reference material showing paint-schemes for his unit in Africa that would be invaluable.

Can anyone supply a link to paintwork used by his unit in Africa, and also numbers of the plane(s) he flew?

Thanks for any help, cheers, MP.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

I have a profile for an F-4 which he flew in Italy during 1942 with I/JG77, it has 116 kill markings on the rudder.

I prolly wont find time to do it myself but I can pass the profile onto anyone who wants a go, its an old profile but its a standard camo and wont be too hard.

Nothing spectactular about that. American fighters killed my fathers nanny while she was out with him for a walk. He and his twin brother only survived cuz she pushed the cart away in time. Happend all the time, everything that moved was a target. I can only imagine it was worse over japane givent he more emotional apsect of the pacific war.

Btw, not worthy a flame here, it was war, after all. Just a sidenote to not be astonished.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

I don't want to divert too far off-topic but...

Some interesting stuff on Bar (http://modelingmadness.com/reviews/axis/luft/cleaver190a7.htm)

When Werner Moelders was promoted to Geschwader Kommodore of JG 51 just before the beginning of the Battle of Britain, he chose B??r as his wingman.

That page has a link on the bottom where the modeler can be contacted. It may be a stretch to think that someone somewhere has a few good profiles to copy and send around. I think that the JG 51 wing pair of Werner Molders and Heinz Bar is a historical curiosity; perhaps not a good subject for IL2 skins. The standard camo at the time was two shades of green on all upper surfaces.

http://modelingmadness.com/reviews/axis/luft/cleaver190a7e.jpg

This subject interests me greatly. Bar was one rare German Military Man i.e. Anti-Authoritarian. Anyone who reads a lot of Fighter Pilot history may find Anti-Authoritarianism (for lack of a better term) common among fighter pilots. Something in the genetics I think.

I???m looking for JG77 skins. I am, really, I am ??? following orders you know.

(good guys shooting at a boy?) Hmmm. I'm flying at 2000m, 450kph, with an oxygen mask and goggles on, and I see someone walking around on a farm in enemy territory, where I have been instructed to shoot at anything that moves.

It would be difficult to discern the difference between an adult and a child without an adult nearby for comparison, I've been in the air for two or three hours already, and I'm equal parts scared and bored.

Oh yeah, one more thing: I'm a cartoon figment of someone's imagination, and so is the kid on the ground.

Now for real life examples, why don't you check with the Chinese, the Burmese (Myanmarans?) and the Phillippines for examples of how the Japanese routinely treated enemy civilians, wherever they found them.

Then we can discuss the ancient Eastern concept of Karma, and the more recent Western philosophy of What Goes Around, Comes Around.

cheers

no way a Tony could outmanuver a mustang...not even the zero could do that..

And replying to that:

yea seriously, the Mustang could outrun, outdive, outclimb, outgun, and outturn any Japanese fighter in WWII. It wouldn't have been that much of a contest. Well rendered though

Right, it's not as if no other air force did that right? Anyway it was a cartoon by a Japanese animator. Plus it was hard to distinguish who was who on the ground. Someone posted here some Anzac vets saw their planes once in New Guinea when they were strafed by them.

that, gentlemen, was clearly not a boy, but an alien escaped from Area 51, which fled to japan...they had to track it down and eliminate it...<div class="ev_tpc_signature">
