View Full Version : Talking about the next patch/add on gets you [LOCKED]?

I've never caused any trouble around the forum. I've always respected the rules and appreciated the service. I was surprised to see that the threads about the new patch were [locked]. All the lads were relatively polite and no one was breaking any rules for the general forum that I know.

What's the deal?

And while we're at it ...

Any news on the add on?

...

Proper etiquette in business is to let your customer/client/partner know in a timely manner if a proposed date isn't going to be reasonable ...

Proper etiquette at home is to let your host/guest know ahead of time if plans are going to change noticeably ...

We are arguably in the gray center of

"... a few weeks ...".

I'm sure Oleg & Troup/Ubi will be sending a thoughtful note telling us if the approximate date will be modified substantially ...

cough-cough

They just don't want another uproar like with 1.1b F and 1.11 im sure you remember how bad this place got because of the errors, all the people demanding stuff etc. SO my guess is mods are locking 1.2 related posts so the forums dont go into anarchy again. I have seen your posts for along time and you never say anything bad or bash anyone.

When there are already 3 or 4 threads on the topic on the first page, new ones are doing nothing more than cluttering up the forum. Any official announcement will be posted on the main news page and announced in the forum with nice and obvious red name next to it, so asking is going to get nothing more than a polite "no news at this time" at best until there is an official announcement available on the main page. Hence the locks, to allow these threads that serve no real purpose to drift quickly off the main page where they're not taking up space.

If we were really serious about stopping discussion on the topic, the threads would be deleted and the topic starters banned. We're just trying to keep the place tidy.
