A wannabe "Mercedes-Benz". This ugly replica is supposed to represent a 1929 Typ SSK. It doesn't even come close and looks ugly as hell. It's powered by a 1.6 80-hp 4-cylinder too. THIS IS NOT A BENZ, THIS IS A WANNABE THAT'S BRING SHAME AND DISGRACE UPON THE HOLLOWED NAME! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/51.gif

Great photo work Cawimmer, as always.

That Messerschmitt "Cabinenroller" retained that side-hinged cockpit just like the ME109. Cool.

The Chevy Belair you photographed is actually an interesting car. It's a 1955 model. The small chrome "V's" under the tail-lights mark it as equipped with a V-8 engine (265 cu in; +/- 4.5 liters). This was the first V-8 passenger automobile marketed by Chevrolet. That engine became an icon within the US "hot-rod" community. The V-8 engine in today's Corvette can trace a technical family lineage all the way back to that first 1955 engine.

Thanks for that info about the Bel Air. That's one of my favorite American cars from the 1950s too, especially the '57 version. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

LMAO, this shot says it all Christian.
Why don't you just go around Munich taking pictures of women, and drop the pretense http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

For me the E-types win, followed closely by that lovely understated 250SL. Great car. I am surprised at how dated the dash looks in those Porsches, all plastic and linear. And lastly the Messer. We are likely looking at the future car - at least in terms of size if we are interested in saving what is left of the planet.

Great pics as usual.

Yep, there's a trend to go to smaller cars. VW just released plans for a 1 L / 100 km car and they're serious about mass production this time.

There was also something in the papers about fuel-cell powered propeller aircraft of the future. I might still have the article but it's in German...
