View Full Version : Gear failure.. still able to use it manual, on what planes?

I was out flying a Mosquito offline, and got jumped by .. something not too nasty (I don't remember what it was). A little fuel leak and a hole in the glass.

When I was done and closing in for a landing I noticed my gear didn't drop. After a turn-around (and a pause to check what I'd mapped my manual gers to) I managed to lower them manually.

When I tried to manually lower/raise them on my quick mission it didn't work.

Any more planes got this hidden little feature?

I believe most, if not all, aircraft with hydraulic landing gear are also equipped with a manual pump to lower the gear in the case the primary system fails. Sometimes your secondary system can be damaged as well, completely preventing you from lowering your gear.

Last night, flying a Zero on-line, I had a new one: my flaps refused to lower after taking slight damage in a dog-fight.
