Hello all

long time player of IL-2 as well as aces; have been wondering about news about the next game to be produced - should be well along by now? Ive had a very hard time finding any news about it though.

Any word on its setting? Release date? System requirements? New engine, or same? Can't wait for it...but I am.

Thanks again,
Bill

He's just kidding. What i think he means is that IL2:FB/AEP/PF will get a HUGE addon (freeware) that will almost be as great new game!

BoB, that is Battle of Britain is a completely different game by 1CMaddox, not scheduled before at least 8 months.

ZK-DABLIN, "2 weeks" on this forum means everything from yesterday to infinity.

We're talking about Oleg's "2 weeks" here!

So, if somebody says 4.03m is going to be released in 2 weeks, that doesn't mean it's here in February. It could also mean it's here before christmas or before the sun explodes.

Dablin "2 weeks" is an injoke around here, a dig at a patch release a long time ago when oleg said that hed release a patch in 2 weeks I think and it ended up being released about 3 months later. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/34.gif

Battle of Britain:Cliffs of Dover is the working title of the new sim

It is "well" underway, but it will not be released anytime soon. Probably not even this year

The sim is, reportedly, more detailed in almost every way than this one. Flight, physics, and damage modelling is supposedly in greater detail, and there will be a lower number of flyable aircraft- initially- becuase of this

The sim will feature an online element- from what I have gleaned from reading about it from Oleg Maddox- and the offline campaign should have two options- Historic, and a type of player-influenced campaign, in which reportedly, you might be able to change History

The sim will not be simply an extension of or add-pn to IL2, FB, or PF, and should not be compatible in any way,a s the game engines should be very different

Other areas of difference have been reported as "scaled" AI, in which large formations of planes (large as in 100+, not "large as the way we FB players think of it", ie: 30 planes) will get variable AI depending on the distance to other AI groups, and the player(s)

It also is reported that the sim will be expanded on in a way similar to- but not identical to- this one

The reason you can't find it anywhere is simply because it's a large undertaking and isn't near completed
