Hello. I saw information of Storm of war making movie included on 1946 bous disc. Its cockpit detail was so amazing & cloud was excellent. But I think IL-2 series' detail was also great. What will be mainly different between 1946 & Storm of War in the technological view?

As I recall, the flight models for the planes will have more parameters. Also, the internal systems of the aircrafts will be modeled, so damage will be more precise and more realistic.

Weather will change dynamically. Air currents and thermals will be present.

Ground objects will have greater detail. Did you see the movie with the tanks and vehicles driving across bumpy terrain?

Yes, I saw entire contents of disc. But I think it may require too high performance video card.

Oleg says playable flak is a possibility.

Vehicles of all types will have complex DM similar to planes.

Sorry, I misunderstood your question.

Worth the admission price alone.

AI will NOT be able to see through clouds/their fuselage/space and time.

I'm really looking forward to realistic "Suprise, you're dead!" kills. At least, not being on the recieving end.

Significantly more sophisticated CEM.

HOPEFULLY, engine sounds that weren't sampled from a two-stroke Victa.

To sum up, the best thing will be an entirely new engine. I love the game we have, but they've reached the limits of the 6-7? year-old Il-2 code. And I hope that the new game is as flexible as possible to allow for an extended life.

The aircraft will have drop shodows (shadows will be cast ON the aircraft).

Drop-shadows/self-casting shadows:

Drop-shadows/self-casting shadows

That's a Max render, btw.

Though it's assumed there will be self casting shadows in BoB, there has been no specific info on it that I am aware of.

Friendly AI actually helps you out? No "sniper gunners"? No friendly ai stealing kills anymore? Enemy fighters occasionally decide to attack you? http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

I've heard the trucks are going to have CEM implemented.

(This is OT, and I don't want to start a discussion, but) I think this should be an option you can turn off. Surely no one was accused of kill stealing in real life war conditions.

Haven't you seen Battle of Britain where the one guy is all giddy cuz he got a kill but then the intel officer says two others claimed the same plane so he only got a 1/3rd.

For starters:

More accurate flight modelling
more accurate physics overall
more accurate damage modelling
dynamic modelling of individual airframes and effects of repairs to them
new method of skinning and displaying skins, resulting in dynamic paint wear
dynamic weather (weather is not static, it can move, and even change during a mission)
option to play the campaign as a historical event, or you can take control of the strategy of the campaign
better ground detail
better sky and cloud detail

That's just off the top of my head. Storm of War:Battle of Britain is not a cosmetic upgrade for 1946 http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif. It is a whole new and better simulation

I tend to agree based on everything I've seen, read and have grown to expect from 1:C Maddox...but it still remains to be seen. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/shady.gif

Has that been confirmed? I don't recall hearing that before, although it has been discussed numerous times. Improved AI is a big deal to me because I fly mostly offline.
