Sounds not bad..

but i would switch the F2A for a flyable avenger and helldiver http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

and.. PLEAAAAASE.. a rabaul, Salomons and Bougainville map !!!

http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif I think Rabul was one of the toughest battles in the pacific...

The maps are sorely needed as it would be so easy to add to campaigns.

We badly need Rabaul, Lae, and Salamaua in order to have believable campaigns.
Keeping my fingers crossed!

IJN needs Torpedo bombers! Ah heck, everyone needs more AC based torpedo bombers!

ok, we need Helldivers since they were still in use early on in the carrier war, flyable TBF's with torpedoes, more maps/campaigns, (especially USMC campaigns since I am a big WW2 USMC air war buff) and maybe flyable B-29's B-17's and B24's since these bombers had a major impact on the outcome of the war. Thanks!

F 2 A - 2

Fighter
2nd Model
Brewster factory code
2nd Variant

F4F-3

Fighter
4th model
Grumman factory code
3rd variant

Hence the same a/c from a different factory could get a different designation.

F4U-1A
F3A-1A
FG-1A

Are roughly the same a/c built by respectively Vought, Brewster and Goodyear. It appears the Navy designation system skipped the 1st factory model designator, compare also for example the F4F-4 and FM-1, which were based on the same design, though differing in gun arrangement.

BTW the last A (as in F4U-1"A") wrt the Corsairs doesn't seem to have been an official designator, but is generally used to easily distinguish between the earlier dash-1 birdcage and later improved Corsair.

ohh an F2A2, I can hardly wait to fly that http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif

Yep.. the maps are really important.. i still don't know why oleg left out this IMPORTANT MAPS of the pacific theatre... http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/cry.gif

next is the F2A.. WHY?!?!?! Some planes are left out because they were not important for the theatre but then you include an F2A?! Kind of model recycling from IL2 there the F2A was known as Brewster Buffalo.. WAH

An F2A but no US Dice Bombers..

And what about landing crafts? I want to fly close air support for my "Island Hoppers"

All in all.. a bad taste gains my tongue...

The F2A is good news since it belongs in a number of the maps we already have. Its also good for a number of early Pacific could have beens.

Personally I am very happy with its inclusion and it also brings the Mod.339 closer, and if not she's a good substitute for that a/c.

When it comes to maps I am mostly looking forward to a good Asian land map. Be that Burma, Malaya or something similar. New Guinea is great as a map, but it cannot double for everything.

With "Dice Bomber" you probably mean DIVE bomber and we have the US Dauntless, so there you are making a mistake. Of course all of us would enjoy a Judy/Helldiver combo in the future.

The lack of flyable torpedo bombers has been acknowledged officially and we may very well see them flyable after a patch or two.

I've been making some critical posts, but lets not criticize a patch we haven't even seen yet!

This is maybe the first time that i dont care about patch. I dont care about f2a or fragile Bety. I specialy dont care about Ai aircraft added. Raiden and Shiden are the only AC that draw my attention in PF. And they are not flayable http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/51.gif. I am waiting for ju88, ta152c and do335. And dedicated server. Things are not bright with this series anymore.

I'm looking forward to a patch, that means hopefully a corrected Ki-61.

DarthBane, work is underway on the Shiden pit from what I've heard.

well, the Buffalo are very different.
and the F2A-2 was one that saw no Combat service. the F2A-3 fought at midway.
the B-339E/C/D over Singapoore, Rangoon, Java

http://www.franky.fliegerhospital.de/Brewster%20entwicklung.jpg

and as AI planes . they ARE welcome, sure not for a pure dogfight turner . but as building historical COOP, offline campaigns ore onlinewars (like VWF , VOW...) they are heavily needed . as first an japanes army bomber like the Ki-21 !

and not to forget, the patch will bring a lot of bugfixes

I just want them to bring back stalls and energy bleed.

Looking forward to fixed Tony. I hope we get a surprise like the Macchi.202 or something like that. But I would take reworked stall/energy modelling over anything else.

Oh, and to have the urine wiped away from the Hellcat's canopy http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif.

I would like to see an addition of more people and activity. It takes away the feeling of immursion when it's only the equipment, I thought we would see a lot more small enviromental changes in this new version. The planes are great but why no-one jumping from ships and flight crews etc.

Oh well, guess it's just me.

CHEERS.

The Correct Buffalo would be the F2A-3 and the 339 which will have a 10 inch stretch to the nose, larger engine and more armor.

It should replace the P-39 in the USMC career mission at Midway

SO basically what I am reading here is that the F2A2 saw no combat service?

Shouldn't this patch also include the AI Devastator and also the Yorktown class CV?
