Hi all,

I started work this morning on the next version of IL2-MAT Manager (v1.95).

So far I've done seven new Luftwaffe weathered numbering options using a great stencil Luftwaffe font that I found on Skinner's Heaven. As well as the seven new options they will all appear as Staffel 1 options for use in the QMB as usual.

I though these might look good on early war 109s etc.

I'll post more WIP screenshots as I go along.

will it be compatible with the new .exe? maybe the current version already is, but i dont know how, or does that have nothing to do with this program and everything to do with il-2 mat?

Hi all,

I've had a hugely productive weekend working on the next version of IL2-MAT Manager. For starters I've produced seven new sets of stencilled Luftwaffe numbers and coded in the options to select them. I have also added a new option to all of the National Markings selection options to display a user-defined graphic of your choice. Lastly I've added a new option to enable/disable the re-positioning of RAF lettering. The new re-positioned lettering works very well on all models of RAF Spitfire and Hurricane but not so well on other aircraft that share their MAT files such as the P-40 and Gladiator. It's impossible to prevent them from sharing the MAT files so you will soon have the option to display them re-positioned or default positioning according to your preferences. This option will work with randomised and non-randomised lettering and all the current RAF font options. Below are some screenshots of the user interface additions.

I'll post more news in the week.

Fantastic Work! I hope you're still keeping standard Luftwaffe font and colours for the tactical markings though...

Great-so the stenciled font for LW birds is just an option? BTW your 1.94 downlaod appears to be corrupted-I tried several times. (The full one I mean)

Yes,

7 additional coloured stencil numbering/lettering sets.

I just downloaded the full v1.94 zip and unzipped it and ran the IL2-MAT Manager installer just fine. I know that sometimes folks get to 99% and no further I had that once from work behind a firewall and proxy server but never from home. Is this what you are describing ?.

Also found that users of Norton Antivirus have problems when it tries to scan a zip file containing more than 50,000 files http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

That's exactly what I am experiencing!
Norton you say eh? Must be running in the backround then somewhere...

I'm not 100% sure of the exact cause but I know that Anti virus progs like Norton try and scan downloads and have problems with so many files being in the self extracting zip.

I hope this helps

That was it! I got it to install after many minutes in waiting (it was definately scanning).

Now, my question is, is there an on/off feature somewhere since I don't view any change in my game (QMB) at all.

Not to worry-program works as advertised! Fantastic work Aces! Some of these blend in real nice with the better skins that are available!

Hi,

Sorry m8, flew a few onlline sorties with my squad last night and went to bed as I was pretty tired, forgot to check the baord again, glad everything is okay.

Hi Wolfiedog m8, this is work in progress, I sent a beta out yesterday to the beta testers and all being well I should have the new version out sometime within the next week.

Cheers and regards

Great job mate!

I've been using the program and I'm loving it so far!

Few things I observed:

-It takes one two entries/exits from the QMB for the game to load MATs markings instead of the stock ones.

-Sometimes it will load some yet will keep stock in others. That later changes to include all (after a flight-or entries/exits from QMB)

One question-I noticed I have to use the "start IL-2" command from MATs manager in order for them to load up. Does that mean that HL-launched games won't load the MAT files?

Hi m8,

I'm aware that the markings take a while to load, if Oleg will make this change to offer the option for the game not to clear the \PaintSchemes\Cache folder then I can change the MAT Manager code to copy directly to the \PaintSchemes\Cache folder, dispense with IL2-MAT and its il2fbhook.dll and the markings would appear instantly that's why I'd dearly love Oleg to make this change.

Yes, IL2-MAT can detect any of the various game exes launching IL2.exe, il2FB.exe (as used by hyperlobby) and Il2pf.exe (as used by the stand-alone install of PF) included in the download there's a file called il2fbhook.dll. You must copy (unzip) this to your IL2-MAT folder in place of the file of the same name already there. This file enables IL2-MAT to detect il2fb.exe and il2pf.exe else and has twice been updated as new game exes came out, most recently for il2pf.exe used by the stand-alone launch of PF.

You can download just this file from my website on the link below:

il2fbhook.dll (http://www.leigh-kemp.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/il2hook_pf.zip)

You should exit IL2-MAT, unzip the file into the IL2-MAT folder and then re-launch IL2-MAT, make sure that IL2-MAT is active and you're good to go.
