Lt. Col. Charles "Chuck" Dryden, one of the first of the pioneering black World War II pilots known as the Tuskegee Airmen, died Tuesday. He was 87.

I just watched the movie "The Tuskegee Airmen" for the first time this past weekend. Although it surely just scratched the surface of the *hit these fine men were put through, it still got the message across. My hat is off to these fine pilots, men and yes, Americans. They were truly great!

As mentioned in the article, Lt. Col. Dryden wrote a 1997 autobiography, "A-Train: Memoirs of a Tuskegee Airman." Its should be availabe at most libraries.
