http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-surprised.gif Wow! A bit too poly-heavy for our current gaming rigs though... Wonder how long before we'll be able to afford machines which could render that in realtime?

only one of these.. a 6800 class card already can do it. A full group in combat? Wait some 5 or 6 years

Yeah, we're getting close to this sort of thing being done in realtime. A month or so back I got to see some stills from an upcoming PS3 game, there was only one picture I could actually see any polygons and it was on a curved armor plate very close to the camera.

Yeah every once in a while this guy's work shows up on the forums. Its great stuff. The consistency of his work is amazing. I can't wait for the day when computer technology allows models like this to be included in sims.

You should take a moment to check out his links too..........some of the stuff on that is staggering like these, now if a game got to this stage i would be on cloud nine http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif Still as one of the older gamers here, I started out flying a hollow green wire framed vulcan shaped aircraft over a green wire framed square landscape.......................... so as you can imagine, 20 years ago the likes of FB was a dream......... a dream come true http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Just imagine the damage modeling we could see with this type of models. I cant wait to see what computer Flight Sims look like in the next 10-15 years. I may be nearly 40 by then but I still cant wait.

some of you are wrong, BoB is getting very close to this
http://img175.exs.cx/img175/5756/tc19rl.jpg
http://img175.exs.cx/img175/3892/hurrydam26li.jpg

and I could bet it won't take more than 3-4 years to achieve this, technology is advancing at exponential pace.

While noone can disagree that BoBs visuals are a HUGE step in the right direction (heck we're all gonna need new PCs) they're still way short of what Kyoshi Harada is achieving.
