Glad there were no casualties. Nice piloting it looks like. Shame to lose the Gooneybird though.

Amazing. I'm reading a BoB book and it talks of many BoB pilots that sacrificed their lives doing what those DC3 pilots did (ie stayed with a crippled plane instead of bailing fearing the plane would drop on civilian houses).

How true, excellent piloting!!
Sad fact is this will add fuel to the fire of those that think older aircraft are unsafe when in fact that is just not the case at all!

I'm glad to see that no one was hurt! And again excellent piloting skill to bring a bird tht size un-powered down into a street and have no collateral damage except a few cars!

Anyway, excellent piloting, this really is astounding selflessness.

heh, and the people who lost their cars have a good story. "So what happened to your car, man?" "Plane crashed on it."
