Yes and no.

Yes they would have made a difference to the US bombing effort.

And no, a few jets could not make up for the Axis man and material inferiority.

Yes they would have made a difference.

Here is the difference.

The A-bomb would have been dropped on Berlin first, and that would have ended thet war in Europe.

Can we put this one to bed finally now!?

What IF... the Germans were in possesion of the Doomsday-machine? Would that have made a difference?

If you're refering to that massive cannon they had propped up against the face of a mountain: They had it. The fact is, they just took too long, as with the jets.

Also: no... the allied forces were completely overwhelming the axis forces by the end of the war.

Mr Pepper kinda let that one slip /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-tongue.gif

"As weaponry, both were good, but in far different ways from each other. In a nutshell, I describe it this way: if the FW 190 was a sabre, the 109 was a florett, or foil, like that used in the precision art of fencing." - Gunther Rall

NO DIFFERNCE

It was the lack of engines that severly hampered the Me 262

Now if the German production focused more on the 190
Who knows

Perhaps, if.......Hitler had used is primarily as a fighter interceptor.
Hitler's insistance that the 262 be used as a bomber/ground support aircraft was one of his greater errors.
However with it's late introduction into the war, the lack of technology in stable jet fuel and the inability to manufacture enough aircraft made the 262 ineffective.

If it had been introduced a year earlier as a fighter interceptor, the war might have easily lasted 2-3 more years.

No, i was actually referring to the Doomsday-machine from the movie "Dr. Strangelove", just to show how I view this thread..

Always loved that movie/i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif
