2) Duxford Daze

3) Debden Days

4) Forgotten Skies - The Early Days

5) Tally Ho (But Ubi nor 1C may not claim exclusive ownership of this title as I have an up coming book by the same title).

6) Hun in the Sun

7) The Few

8) Their Finest Hour

9) Clouds over Croydon

10) Battle of Britain (I still like that one fine)

Good Luck with the title search.

War Over England...its neutral (un~Biased), and it describes a recognizable geograpic location without using Battle of Britain(tm)

You can't Bias the name in favour of Britain or Germany...Liberation of Britain http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/icon_twisted.gif for example...unless its a Spit Sim only, or a Bf~109 Sim only.

But then, Never So Few suggested by chris455 could refer to Italians in BoB. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/11.gif

But if you can get the name...

12. Piece of Cake

Ideal for the first edition of the game, a dry sense of humor and a lot of irony. Or simply:

13. Battle of Britain

16. Most Dangerous Enemy (book)

Finally, and aggressively german:

Why? http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_confused.gif

BoB will have no connection to Forgotten Battles. None at all.

It is not an add-on, and it won't use Forgotten Battles' game, phsyics, or damage engine. It may use the info that makes up some of those things, but it will not use any part of FB's code. It will be much more sophisticated.

It is a completely new sim. It will not be compatible with Il2, Il2:FB, Pacific Fighters, or the merged install of FB/PF.

if you call it "Western battle Fronts" that covers a whole lot more ground, and there won't be any Spit IXs for instance, or P-47s, and people will complain

That would be kind of misleading as the initial release will only contain planes from the BoB era. Knowing what people are like on forums if Oleg names it anything other than BoB people whine, complain, cry, whinge etc that only BoB planes were included as you point outhttp://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif. If we want a name of the series, then:

"Air War - Battle of Britain 1940"

If we want to fool around http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif then:

"Oleg Strikes Back" http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

"All Your Flightsimmers Are Belong To Us"

Well ... Since "BoB" is meant to be the "kickoff point" of a whole series I'd suggest choosing a rather general name for the series (such as "World War 2 Air Combat") and then adding the topic as secondary headline. For example for BoB it could be "World War 2 Air Combat - Battle of Britain July-October 1940" and so on.

LEXX_Luthor
01-29-2005, 04:31 AM
Good point Thor, we never thought of that. Something to cover the entire New Olegarchy.

"Air War" would be good, but it was the title of an old 1980s 1950-1980 jet sim board game, so don't know if that can work. AW would make decent initials.

Can`t remember details but I`ve seen fotos of landing craft specially build for the invasion of England. I´m sure others in this community have links or details. The reason the invasion was called off was that German spies managed to get an English menu across the channel therefore changing the course of the war and Hitler`s appetite. Of course Goehring could have eaten anywhere, fotos prove that. Paris suffered.
Had the British menu offered "bangers and mash with a gallon of ******ss" the world would be a different place. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/53.gif
