I love that Directors Cut version of that movie.

It has a very funny additional scene. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Remember how Traudl Junge and Eva Braun sit in the garden to smoke a cigarette ?

Eva Braun sees that statue....

In the next scene she goes to Adolf and
says :

Eva : "Darling , there is this cute statue that would fit wonderful in my garden"

"Promise you buy me that statue ....please"

Adolf : "You and your ideas.... i dont even know who owns it"

"Its propably property of the city , i cant buy it so easily as you might think"

Eva : "But could try to find out who owns it ... please..." "And whats that on your uniform ?"

Adolf : "This is my working uniform , whats wrong with it ?"

Eva : "Its dirty" "You cant walk around like that"

Adolf : "Nonsense. Its not that dirty"

Eva : "You cant defeat the world bolshevism and walk around with such an dirty uniform"

"Imagine the newspapers photograph you after the victory ...."

"The people will say : Look at his uniform , what kind of wife has he that she doesnt wash the clothes of her husband ?"

And this was not created ! That strange scene really happened and was witnessed by Traudl Junge.

They both spoke in an bavarian accent, something Adolf only did in an private atmosphere http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

"Way OT"??. Nothing on this forum is off topic and that is why I like it. Especially when you have Celeon posting satellite pictures of where he buys his groceries. Now where else can you get that. Thank you Ubisoft.

Wasn't Traudl Junge the one who released her book not too long ago and then died shortly thereafter? Maybe longer ago than I remember. Anyway, has anybody read her book?

Wilhelm I feel sorry for your dad. I am sure no one likes subtitles, maybe you can convince him to give it a go... this movie is too good, and it is too important, to be missed.

On the other hand my dad needs to see this movie, since he is sooo into WWII German history...Perhaps I'll just buy him a copy.

There was also a documentary that got rave reviews that was released about two years before "downfall" called "Blind spot"

In fact some of that footage starts the ends the film "Downfall"

I haven't seen it, but it's in my NETFLIX queue.

Blind Spot (http://imdb.com/title/tt0311320/)
