View Full Version : Anti-war sentiment

I've noticed while reading these posts a very strong anti-war sentiment, even personal attacks against some people who are implied war-mongers.

I don't feel this is fair.

This site is about WWII aircraft, not about war itself. Nobody likes or even wants war, though people like wargaming, chess and computer wargames etc. The two are totally different.

If you're concerned that some younger generations might get the two confused (which has happened in the past) then education of the realities of war is all that's needed. But this forum is not the right place for that.

So could we have more aircraft talk and less righteous antiwar talk.

Thanks.

PS, When can I fly my 110 and blow huge holes through pommy barmaids!!! YEAH!!!! /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

The newbie is right. I was about to say the same thing. Politics have no place in this forum.

So... think we'll be seeing the Do 335 anytime soon?

No. The newbie is wrong (as they always are /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif ). He attacks one side: the anti-warmongers (whoever they are?!), but not those who cry bloody war whenever they get the chance. That's a lopsided argument, and therefore I can only guess that it's clearly political as well. Exactly what we don't want ...

I'm telling you: The newbie's wrong.

"The picture repeats itself when operations, which began with great intent and local successes, degenerated into senseless, wild hammering at fixed front-line positions once they encounter initial heavy losses and unforeseen situations. This incomprehensible phenomenon appears again and again. But, even in extremis, the Russian is never logical; he falls back on his natural instinct, and the nature of the Russian is to use mass, steamroller tactics, and adherence to given objectives without regard to changing situations."

Well, you're right about one thing, we don't want political arguments, but I fail to see the point to most of your post, exactly who one this forum "cry bloody war whenever they get the chance"?

That is a much more biased statement than what you claim Demolisher10 has perpetrated. This is exactly what he and myself have been talking about.

So please, please, stop assuming that just because someone supports a different side than you of a controversial subject, they are automatically warmongers in your eyes.

Well, if the PL has been closed, that's not to be created again in the GD's threads.

But, if I remember well, the atmosphere was far worse a few months ago, and the flamers were less the anti- than some (I didn't say all) of the pro-war posters.

That said, I think one can express what he thinks, and if I feel sick at the idea of flying a B-29 with an A-bomb or something like that, I don't know why I couldn't say it.

P.S. : you are worrying about people talking about politics instead of aircrafts or sims, but, what is this thread about ??

Granted. Not many, but come on: Can you honestly say that you haven't seen it happen?

No. It's exactly AS biased if anything. /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

I don't assume that anything is anything in my eyes. If my mind is made up on something, I don't assume that it is. But anyway: I can't stop something that I don't do, so although I don't fail to see the point to most of your posts, I do fail to see the point to this last little entry.

How about peace? /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif
