I am enjoying flying PF very much and decided to bite the bullet and install SP2 (have it downloaded) and was wondering if there are any problems with it and PF? Also, is there anything I should know before doing the install, such as steps to take to prevent any future problems (ie: doing the install in safe mode or something like that)? TIA

If you€re concerned about security problems then it€s a good idea. When I installed it I had no problems with the sim. My biggest hangup was the €œWelcome€ start-up window that required a click on the user name before going into windows. There is a reg tweak that can fix that. Otherwise, no difference in performance.

Thanks. That's good to hear. Is it o.k. to just shut down the lan processes, anti-virus, etc. and then install sp2, or should I go into safe mode to do the install? I really like the sim, however, I have a real problem with doing maneuvers without stalling. Having watched many videos of combat footage, it seems like I should be able to at least do a hard break turn without the stall http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_confused.gif. Oh well, guess it just means more practice.

Just make sure after you install SP2, to go back to Windows Update and grab any SP2 security fixes.

Also, about your stalling, make sure you're not snapping the stick around, and almost never pull the stick all the way back.

Use smooth stick movements, and listen for the air turbulence and shuddering at the edge of a stall and you should be good.

Thanks folks for all the info. Took the plunge and all seems to be working fine. Now to get back into flying (when real life doesn't intefere http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif).
