Both. There is a greater variety of DF servers, much more frequent COOP launches, online wars etc. But you can also find more relaxed, quick-fun stuff, too. Take your time to look around there.

After many years of online flying I myself prefer to use the program ASE (=All Seeing Eye) before HL (=hyperlobby) to join servers, since ASE updates faster and also show all participants on a server. HL seemingly only show people connected with HL.
ASE also use less resourses and can be set to shut down completely after joining a server wich I like a lot. Many also use both.

There are different servers and players. There are low-life and High-life. U will soon enough be able to sort them.

Personally I prefer early-war maps and that means I must sometimes jump from server to server to find these.
On early-war maps Bombers have atleast a chance for good gameplay, but late-war the big cannons means a bomber have usually a limited or no chance for good gameplay. (bombers are not for weakminded)

The best is to find a team of friends (new or old) to fly with, because good company makes up for eventual downsides.

This type of competition is sometimes frustrating and it's not uncommon to encounter individuals with anger-related problems and wanting social skills.
The natural competition-situation and statistics
in my mind brings out the worst of some individuals.
In a way it is a way to test your own psychological stamina, honor and level of sportsmanship, or lack there of.
How much can u take before u crack?

Still there are good guys out there. It's worth the struggle to be able to meet and learn to know them. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

What u mean?
There is no restriction in servers in ASE and u can set filters as u like.
Do u disslike ASE? I have used both HL and ASE for years and see more benefits with ASE wich also is the better choice for those who have less capable computers since it can be set to completely shut down after joining a server.
ASE does not however have the chat function similar to HL, but I never missed it.
Other than that I see no other gains with HL
over the things in ASE I listed in earlier reply.
It's not saying HL is bad, it's just facts about the differences.

First off I think Frankyboy was addressing HayateAce and secondly the big disadvantage of ASE is that you cannot organize Coopmissions or Online Wars. If you only hop into dogfight servers well than ASE is worth a try but for anything else HL is not to be missed!

I see. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/34.gif

I seldom play coops or online wars so that may be.
ASE is simpler built in some respects but very clever in the small resourse use.
The function to shut itself down when playing really helps to reduce lag for less powerful computers. I have a better system now but I still like this a lot.

Most people I know have both ASE and HL, and use both.

Hey Shifty,
Yes,lotta fun but don't be mislead. There is a new Il-2: complete edition that is patched up to 4.04m
There is NO 4.05 patch. You have to buy a Pe-2 add-on that brings the version up to 4.05 standard and lets you play with most servers on hyperlobby.

Hi Shifty,

Yep, Hyperlobby is the go. Also check out the various squads in your time zone. With comms to wingman, etc, it adds another level to your enjoyment in this sim.
