Anyone know his purpose. Not sure if my game has a bug as he has no weapon modelled. Is he a tail gunner? Or just there to make coffee for the pilot on long journeys >?

Observer/navigator. In real life it looks like a lot of the Beaufighter Mk21s in Australian service had a machine gun mounted back there but unfortunately we didn't get one.

If we can't have the observer position modelled, it would be nice to have the gunner radio calls to the pilot, 'Break Left' etc.

Agreed there Fox-3.

Or the other alternative is, if the observer can't call out break left etc. We should have the ability to switch to the observer section.

Its impossible to check your six on the beaufighter.

The observer will call out "break left" or "break right" on very rare occassions - and I do mean rare. He usually does it at the exact time your wing is getting blown off.

As far as looking behind me, I use the external views (if enabled) and look. I don't consider this cheating in the Beaufighter as the guy in the rear SHOULD be doing this for you.
