Hi all http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/35.gif
Just dumped Intel Extreme Graphics and got VisionTek Xtasy ATI Radeon 9200 256MB PCI DirectX9 (can't use AGP card http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/cry.gif)
Still 200% better than onboard graphics with had no option for perfect water. Here are few pictures including FPS mostly from F4U IWO, 1945 Campaign http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/heart.gif

Um, did you know the Corsair is missing its tail? http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Nice post. It takes talent to make the most of what you have.

Hi steve_v http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif
Thank you for kind words http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/heart.gif
To me is a miracle with 9200 series Radeon getting results like this and I'm so happy that this (for many crapy) card support full vertex shaders http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/11.gif

Running: ATI Catalyst 5.4 Latest
P4 2.0GHz oc @ 2.1GHz
1GB DDR SDRAM Kingston PC2100
ASUS P4G533LA mother
COMPAQ Pukesario 6330US

and yes it was difficult to fly without tail but
managed to bring her crash landing on ship with not much damage . What a fun http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/88.gif

That's some nice screenshot action ^_^

What sort of system are you using to back up that card? Also, what's the resolution and anti-aliasing? (It looks highly anti-aliased to me).

Can you believe I just gave away a Radeon 9250 to a friend, while I'm using a GF FX5700? Dumb move, believe me. The reason I didn't like it was because it had only a small heatsink, and no fan.

Hi JunkoIfurita http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

My resolution is 1024x768 32bit Stencil buffer on

Catalyst OpenGL set at:
Optimal performance
Anti-aliasing - Application preference
Maximum resolution - Aplication preference
Anisotropic filtering-Aplication pref.
Texture preference- Performance
Mipmap detail level- Performance (bilinear)
Wait for vertical sync- Always off
Trueform[tm] - Always off
Also using texture compression S3TC
Power supply 200W
Thank you for nice reply http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-tongue.gif

PS: As you can see everything is pretty much bugged down in setting.
And card have quite nice heatsink with fan, they are using new design http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

I suggest you save your money for a real computer and video card. That looks like play station to me

Not bad considering what you have to work with.

Hah, I've seen screenshots here in the forums from a "real computer and video card" and I can hardly tell the difference between them and these screenshots. You go, zlin. Enjoy your card (and the $ 4,000 you saved) ! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Hello Capt._Tenneal http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

Sure these screenshot are far from perfect for some but as for now I'm happy camper.
It is always challenge to pull out something from nothing http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/59.gif
There is no way to rush for new computer at least after release of upcoming BOB http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/heart.gif
I unfortunately never even thought of maybe causing mixed feeling among these "high-end" computer gamers(Renegade_50) by showing my screenshots because there is somehow perception of impossibility to have perfect water unless using still quite expensive video cards.
I paid $85,- after $30,- mail in rebate for this new card http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/11.gif

Once again for these "low-end" machine gamers <span class="ev_code_RED">"NEVER GAVE UP"</span>
Thank you Capt._Tenneal and R_Target for nice reply http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-tongue.gif

Hi noshens http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

Sorry $30,- mail in rebate ended on April 30 2005 so your friend have to pay full price or wait for new rebate on this card http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

The picture of the card in weblink is old. My card It's completely different design but the package is exactly the same.

Take a look on these pictures (just example) and it is the closest I can get with same color, heatsink and fan

TRUFORMâ"ž¢II
The latest incarnation of ATI's innovative higher order surface technology. It is designed to smooth out the curved surface of 3D characters, objects, and terrain by increasing the polygon count through a process called "tessellation". By taking advantage of the massive vertex processing power of the RADEON 9700, it delivers more natural looking 3D scenes without requiring any changes to existing artwork.

For CKY_86 :

There is realy no altering except overclocking speed by only fraction 5% with ATITool v0.0.23

Nice shots but your fps rate is horrible. How can you stand and fly with that low an fps rate?
Animated water is nice but believe me...a high fps rate and smooth gameplay under all conditions makes for a much more realistic sense of flying than shader based waves on the ocean.

Hello VF-2_John_Banks http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_cool.gif

Of course I would love to have 60-100 fps but this topic was more about PCI video card that nobody would ever consider to be able to render perfect water and still pull out average
30 fps, to me is simply astonishing !
For "on-line" play there is nothing more simple than choosing option "Hardware shaders-0" and fraps are going through the roof http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/59.gif

Thank you for opinion http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

You can just follow the rule of thumb " Excellent mode for playing, Perfect mode for screenshots " . http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif
