I really highly recommend the Aircraft of the Aces Serise

I just picked up 'Aircraft of the Aces' Spitfire V, P-47, P-51 (Both about the US types service in the 8th AF), Tempest and Typhoon (the HAwker fighters were in the one book. I also got the 'Aviation Elites' serives on JG2 and the 56th FG. All this for only 980 yen at a Japanese book store, about $10 US or 5 pounds! In Australia they usually sell from anywhere between $25 and $45, so 6 books for about $2 Aus each is a real bargin http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

There is great stuff, usually, about the Aces, and some great great photos and paintings of the planes.

Not a lot on technical data, however.
