Effective immediately, the HISTORIA and NORMANDIE-NIEMEN servers will merge. The new server will retain the HISTORIA name. As the official home server of Team USA, the newly expanded HISTORIA server features historically based maps that are fun yet challenging to even the most experienced IL2 pilot. Rolling in existing and new maps from NORMANDIE-NIEMEN greatly broadens the available theaters of operations now available on HISTORIA. Detailed mission briefs for every map help pilots quickly organize strike, support, and fighter packages. A public Stats page is also available to help pilots track their progress.

Team USA along with its many friends and supporters invites all seasoned IL2 pilots to stop by and test your piloting and teamwork skills in an immersive environment that provides a small glimpse into what it was like to actually be there. The new HISTORIA server can be found on Hyperlobby, or All Seeing Eye. Please feel free to use our Teamspeak server whenever flying HISTORIA at 69.50.182.98:6768, password "shadetree".

What times are good to look for a game on historia? It seems whenever I check it's empty

That's been part of the challenge for us na85. When a few people show up, it always fills up quickly. Right now I believe there is a core group of Europeans that jump on in the evening their time and another in North America that do the same. It also has a tendency to be much busier on the weekends. We hope by letting more people know about our recent improvements, we can get more regular attendance. For the most part, when pilots fly on Historia, they find it challenging and a whole lot of fun.

Well I'll start checking more often, I've always thought historia looked like lots of fun. Are there any early-war maps? I'm getting rather sick of the late-war western front maps (warclouds, etc)

In short, yes there are early-war maps that are real challenging. Current map rotation has 1941-45 in the Med, N. Africa, Eastern Front and Western Front. Go to our website below to see map list and current rotation (last post).

This is where you'll find me. Always.

- Nice
- Friendly
- No "default" users
- Many admins - quick bans for those folks that can't behave.
- No 100/150 octane Allied on Med maps
- No D9's, K4 1.98 or Ta-152's on Med maps either
- Balanced, Historical plane sets
- FAST Server
- Painstakingly crafted maps with enough "eye candy" to entertain, but not too much to slow things to a crawl

Absolutely FIRST CLASS in the tradition of "Greater Green".

We have literally TONS of great maps. The current rotation is our first go. Please come try the server when you get the chance and let us know what you like and don't like on our Forums. Try our comms out. No yelling - no whining - just great Friendly folks.

We built this server for our own entertainment - rather than attempting to fill some "Niche".

Hope to see you all there.

The one thing I'll always remember about my first time on Historia, was taking a B-25 on a ship raid and getting really badly beaten up by their gunners.

A 190 chased me, but was destroyed by the blast from one of my bombs.

As I struggled back to base on one (smoking) engine, one of the Axis guys was circling my base. He flew in to intercept me, and didn't open fire.

He then typed, don't worry Puma....good luck with landing that crate!

In a time when points seem everything to everyone, this showed a maturity you don't find on many servers.

I did land the B-25 even though the engine caught fire on approach.

Just something that stays with you, and that I wanted to say http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Hope the merger works out, I'll certainly stop by.

Cheers, MP.

Sounds good! 56RAF will certainly be looking in.

Any chance of the occasional jet map? (ducks and runs for cover....)

Glad to see it, Historia has always been one of my favorite servers.

Some of the best mission oriented maps and plane sets out there, and great folks.

This is my home server as well. The research and meticulous mission-building that the core mapmakers put into the maps is encouraging when you really want that historical accuracy (obviously within the parameters we have to work with).

I was there last night about 23:30 CET. Was the only one there. Took up a Stuka and blew up a whole lot of allied ground traffic with NO OPPOSITION on the Italian map. Come on guys this is a great server don't let us bombers fly unhindered. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/784.gif

I know I've got 3 buddies in the middle of a new pc-build right now and they are regulars here, but there's plenty of opportunity for everyone to do what they like.

It's a server in the DF arena, but rest assured, the emphasis is on attack and defense...not straight up DF'ing. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Skins are off BTW, so those great screenies showing the AC wearing correct historical skins for those mission that they were flying in are a bit misleading to our current server settings settings. all those pics were taken from server action before skins were recently turned off.

That's correct, so all you pilots that don't like flying with skins that cause stutters and spawn pauses, give us another look.

That's a shame about the skins http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

Any plans to turn skins on again? I very rarely have a chance to fly online but the prospect of default skins further dissuades me, especially on Mediterranean maps. Maybe even on a limited basis you could have them, assuming that';s what the majority of users want, of course.

It's possible for sure, lets get the numbers up and a bit more even amount of attendance, and yes we could arrange a skins on day, from time to time.

Our settings are not noobish at all, (keeps numbers down) then when we had skins on to boot, it causes lag with big attendance, and minor spikes with low attenance. So that kept numbers down.

We are now looking to get more attendance, to increase the battles. We won't budge on our settings, short turning off skins. We love skins alot, but we have alot more fun with more pilots invvolved.
