Thank you for your replay Ian. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
It will be nice to hear from Oleg as well, after all this is his Ready Room. I do not believe he has not got few minutes for his fans.
Also what has happened to all the weekly updates? Most of us here are quite keen to hear about the new developments.

not to go way off topic here but to my understanding Oleg was somehow sick in the past? what was it or what happened?

I suspect Oleg is just a little tired of all the bashing he takes whenever he posts here.

He is human after all.

Why yes I do........Leadspitter became very angry when he caught Crazy Ivan & Tagert holding hands.....Now I'm not sure if it's because he was not included, or is jealous of one or the other but in my opinion that is what polyamory is for..... http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/10.gif

I think people read too much into Oleg's long abscences from the forum. He gets busy with projects and doesn't have time to screw around on an internet board. During periods of relative calm in between projects he almost always stops by and says a few things about what is currently going on and answers a few questions. Its a pretty natural pattern at this point.

I don't recall Oleg taking a bashing when he is here...Luthier...now that is another story. People seem to treat Oleg with respect when he posts...although he does get bombarded and I'm sure he expects it.

If there is bashing going on, it seems that it happens when there is silence...when people fill in the blanks like people do, with their imagination...and it is often erroneous and negative.

I don't mind waiting extra time for a patch, except when that extra time yeilds extra bugs or other important errors unfixed...not that he must patch, he doesn't have to, but has chosen this approach to selling his product and I applaud him for it and enjoy flying and will likely buy his products in the future....my hopes are that he is working on HMG desyncing, slat aircraft angle of attack, dive characteristics of heavy aircraft, the radiator bug in P&W engines, the speedy ai, the prop pitch exploit, inertia modelling, climb rates and elevator authority of the P-38J and general stability of certain allied aircraft....now if none of that is addressed and we wait and wait...well then I guess I'll have to wait for the next patch and hope there is one.

I believe Oleg has to turn the patches over to UBI for distribution too, and I suspect the patch is pretty low on the priority list...I cross my fingers and hope that more time is equal to more fixes...I'm just peachy with that idea in my mind http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

He posted the other day at SimHQ. Just a brief note about Vertex Texture lookups SM3.0 stuff but we know he's alive http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

I hate to say it, but I seem to recall a post from Oleg on Sim hq a month or two ago saying something about not being able to take all the crazy/biased toward one side posters on this forum...

Why do you hate to say it? Let's be honest here. Over the years, this forum has gone from a place to have a dialog with OM, to a virtual daycare center. SimHQ is a more mature place to discuss the issues, and judging by the posts there, that doesn't reflect well on what this place has become

See, here's one problem. Criticism can be constructive. Bashing isn't. The posts here are increasingly derogatory towards him, the criticism is less constructive by the minute, and he's not a 15 year old. The very fact he doesn't post here often tells me he's wise and adult enough not to invite the abuse. Why should he, when people here literally call him an idiot and other names? You expect him to get into an argument with these folks? No. He goes elsewhere to discuss with the community. Perfectly natural and to be expected, honestly. Most folks don't even bother to learn a speck of what they're talking about concerning this sim, but they still toss out their angry, abusive, and uneducated opinions, as if Oleg were ignorant, not the other way around.

It's telling to me that you seem to equate criticism and bashing. They are not the same thing but apparently, a lot of people seem to think theya re

Observe this post have been edited because of an unfortunate and multi-interpretable sentence.
(due to lack of language schooling)

Saqson has quoted me below:
----------------------------

quote:
Perhaps he have no knowledge of the things we discuss.

Saqsons answer:

Perhaps, he has more knowlege on this things, but thinks it will be rude to show the people here the level of their profanity, regarding this things.
-------------------------

This above sounded as I ment that oleg had no knowledge of flight related things. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/53.gif
What I tried to say (with my lacking English)
was that perhaps Oleg doesn't follow the discussions in the forums. (Don't expect too much from me, I'm swedish)
-----------------------------------------------
----------------------------------------------
----------------------------------------------

He has his own reasons for not being here more than sporadically, and likely have lots to do anyway.
If he shows up there will be a lot of questions.
If there are questions it would seem rude not to answer some of them, wich might lead to more questions and rudeness.
Perhaps there are Russian forums wich are more in his taste. Perhaps he don't want to show up.
Perhaps he doesn't follow any of our discussions.
Perhaps he don't read our suggestions for improvement.
who knows what he thinks of this place. Perhaps he hates his job as millions of other people do, but he is good at it and works on.

What do I know anyway. I would go do fun stuff and not dwell on it too much.
There is more of the same pain tomorrow. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

Honestly...every other post seems to be addressed to him. "Oleg do this" "Oleg this is wrong" "Oleg why are you doing it this way?" "Oleg has Russian bias" and so forth.

I'd stay away http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Or hire a secretary to impersonate me http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

"Oleg has Russian bias" and so forth.
At the Russian forums it's "Oleg has sold himself out to the Westerners" or "Oleg has German bias, because they pay him more money". http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif
May be that is why he shows at the English language forums even more often, then at the Russian ones. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif BTW, he have NEVER posted at the 1C official Russian IL2 forum. So, probably, he really has that thing, mm-m how it is it called? Ah, the Bias. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

I think it would be a shame if he never saw some of those constructive efforts.

S~!

Thanks for the clarification SaQSon.

Most of the older pilots know why he doesn't come here. But good to see the info disseminated for some of the newer people. Though you did throw me for a loop regarding the Russian Forums. I was under the impression that he posted at Sukhoi.ru more than anywhere else.

He reads Ubi, SimHQ and Sukhoi regulary. At least, when I was at Moscow at the beginning of this summer, that what he did virtually every morning.

I was under the impression that he posted at Sukhoi.ru more than anywhere else.
Recently, almost all news from him get to the Sukhoi from here. Just some people take his posts from Ubi and translate them in Russian and post at Sukhoi. But he personally posts there quite rarely. Though, some of his emploees show up at Sukhoi, which they don't do here.
