Gabriel Graziani recently posted on his twitter an update on who will be in the Assassin's Creed comic book. His name is Nikolai Orelov, he is a Russain Assassin set in 1908, Siberia. If you have seen the trailer they were talking about the Tunguska Event, a Mysterious explosion in the skies of Siberia caused by the impact and breakup of a meteor, set around June 30, 1908. Here are some pictures of our 20th century Assassin.

I'd rather an assassin have a gun in a comic than in a game! Plus, he probably only uses it when he is spotted and needs to shoot the archers that are attacking him or something!

I don't mind the gun. I get the feeling that this guy is more of a sniper.

They have to be patient, wait for exactly the right time to strike. They need to plan out meticulously what their strategy is and how they are going to get away. I think you could pull off a sniper assassin, certainly in fiction rather than gameplay terms.

Anyway, love the look, his outfit is very close to Altair's and Ezio's whilst being more modern.

I can't wait for this!

Yea im sure your right EzioAssassin51 you normally are http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_cool.gif. Rumble_strike your right but how many games in the past have had that element to them so long as they do not add this to the games i dont miund that much. Also the gun is a lever action style rifle not going to help you with snipering anyone good for close combat not great range though.

The only thing that suggests lever action is the absence of a bolt. But missing both of them makes it not look like a gun at all. I would have expected it to be a Mosin Nagant.

Ok if i could copy pictures on here i would show you what a lever action rifle looks like but its pretty much identical bar a few minnor details. Either way thats not the point point is its no sniper rifle its more like a hunting rifle without a silencer not very assassins creed is it.

But that makes him blend in so if they say "Nikolai is near" they will be like 'but there are so many people named Nikolai! Which is he?'

But then they'd probably say 'the dude in the white robes' http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

Notice how they all have the larger loop for the rest of the fingers to fit through. Nikolai's gun clearly does not have that. Also, if you'll look closely at the second picture the OP posted, you can see that the ring you seem to think is a lever is pretty flush to the rifle, and is secured to it by a bolt right through the middle of where they contact. That makes it impossible for that ring to move. It's only there to guard the trigger from getting bumped.

Also, I get the impression that you don't know much about fire arms, based on your comment that it looks more like a hunting rifle than a sniping rifle. While there are rifles which are specifically designed to snipe targets, that does not mean that they can only be used for that purpose. The Mosin Nagant, for example. It was used as the primary infantry rifle in the Russian, and then Soviet army for World Wars 1 and 2. It was also the primary sniper rifle for Russian snipers such as Vasili Zaytsev. In addition, a friend of mine has used a Mosin Nagant as his deer hunting rifle for years. Other rifles aren't locked into a single purpose either. Although it's unconfirmed, some believe that an M2 machine gun was used to accomplish the longest shot ever to kill somebody. M4's and M16's are also used to snipe people. In the Military channel television program called Special Ops, an operative on a training exercise uses the M4 (firing simunition) to take down his target. Here is the clip. http://military.discovery.com/...taking-the-shot.html (http://military.discovery.com/videos/special-ops-mission-taking-the-shot.html)

Good find...

I'm liking it so far..

An Assassin is just a killer who does so without warning or being spotted...

If Nicolai is a sniper.. that's a perfect modern day role in my eyes, being able to shoot someone from a hidden spot.. and vanish before they can get to his position.. ?

Guess we will find out when more details appear...
