What will the world be like outside of the towns?
Will their be bandits like in oblivion. Will it take a while to get from one area to another? will their be any stoppong pionts anywher?. If they are far away, will there be fast travel?

It apears you can travel from one city to the next, but your guess about the content of the "outer world" is as good as any. There is hardly any information about that subject available.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

During an interview with Jade she mentions something about a forest outside of a town...so yes there are 3 major cities but there is at least one outside place where you play.

D: She says you can go down and explore the kingdom. That makes me happy. Open world FTW.

well if the cities are huge then it shouldnt be too much of a problem.. but once in a while im sure everyone will want to stretch their legs and fullfill thier sense of adventure. ie outposts, bandits, little camps and everything you might have encountered at the time.
