To all,

I started with FB. Added AEP to FB and saw an amazing AI improvement (more aggressive fighter tactics, etc).
I then added PF on top...added all patches and updates (now running V4.04).

My humble question is this: The AI seems to have "dumbed down" a bit after I piggy backed PF on the other two.

For example, in the past when I went head to head with any of the famous axis aces, they would twist and turn and fight with me. Now, Hartmann is the only one who stays and fights. Graf, Heppes, Molnar, Kovacs...they all run.

Is it just my imagination? Thoughts?

I don't know about any specific aces, but the AI was altered to run in certain conditions if it was to their advantage, ie if they're damaged/have a quicker plane/are outnumbered. I don't know exactly what those conditions would be though. I imagine it doesn't always work perfectly though.
Maybe you're just too good for them! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

You might want to try setting their difficulty setings to 'ace' in QMB to see how they do, I doubt if those aircraft have a default 'ace' setting - someone else might know that though.

What skill setting are you choosing for the AI?

Hey,

I always set the AI on ACE.

After reading the first reply to my post, it all makes sense now. Only ones who feel they've got an advantage stay and fight. That's cool...but a little frustrating. Especially when you wanna bust some caps.

Thanks!

You can also start out giving THEM the advantage. That might encourage them to stick around and feel your wrath. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/touche.gif

Or you can get the '46 package and get online. Comparatively NONE of the AI can hold a stick to some of the better pilots online. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Yes! I hope to do just that.

In my dreams, I imagine that I'll instantly become the internet Ace...the God of all virtual fighter pilots. In reality, I will probably get my butt beaten by the base fuel truck driver.

Ah, but I can dream, right?
