View Full Version : Short Escape Sequences?

Though I can't seem to find it anywhere, I most certainly can recall an interview with Patrice, on which he stated to have instructed the dev team to build the missions in a way that would cause for the escape sequences to be shorther than they were in AC. If I do recall correctly, he even said he instructed them to make escape sequences that "last for 30 seconds, not 5 minutes". That really bothers me, as one of my favorite aspects in AC1 is the chase sequence which would take place after each assassination, and trying to reach the bureau with all the gaurds of the city chasing me, clearly eager to have my head. In AC1, a sequence like that would be at least 3 minutes in length. thus building tense and being exciting and adrenaline pumping from start to finish. If those sequences were to be so dramatically cut down in length, that would also dramatically reduce the feeling of tense that is vowed to follow them, and their overall quality.

Thoughts?

Yeah, the escape sequence in the E3 demo was rather short. I like having the entire city on my tail. I suppose the escape sequences will last as long as you want them too, perhaps they change depending on te difficulty level.

it depends on you,
he ment 30 seconds as in if you use smoke bombs and other stuff.
where as in Ac1 where you had none of that stuff and you ran without using parkour they'd keep following you.

it's the aspects/aspects

Maybe the chases for random stuff like killing citizens will be 30 seconds, but the main assassination chases will be longer.

In fact, he was talking about the cut scene when you assassinate somebody... In the first game, it could go up to 2 or 3 min... Now they will turn around 30 seconds

It's gonna be short in venice with all the water either way.

He said they had to work hard to find the right balance because of it.

Eeh, no... It is right that your targets dont speak for along time anymore, but he was talking about chasing sequences and how he didnt want us to spend 5-10 min escaping from the guards.

I wouldn't mind if they cut the length of the chases, as long as it's atleast 1-2 minutes.

If you want to find the video i would reccomend looking back a few pages in the video thread. (http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/5251069024/m/5691062167/p/35) If I find it myself then I'll just post it.

Wait did you just say the conversations after an Assassination are shorter now? That seriously sucks.

Yeah, the shorter death confessions were discussed at E3.

it is now more like an Assassination now...you do research, you kill and you disappear

I like it http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

ok...sometimes the long escapes where fun, but most of the time I hated them http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif
