I have just reformatted and had a very difficult time trying to understand how to reinstall Spellbound; a spell checker for Firefox. I use it when I post messages on these Forums. After much trial and error, I finally figured out how to install the software and dictionary. I have now made a copy of the instructions for installing Spellbound for Windows XP which I will post here. Hope it is useful to someone.

1. Go here and install extension for Firefox http://spellbound.sourceforge.net/install It may be necessary to allow pop-ups or software download. Reboot to enable extension.

2. Then go here for library. http://dictionaries.mozdev.org/installation.html.

3. Select dictionary and double click. (again you may have to allow pop ups)

4. Reboot.

5. Go to Firefox main page, tools extension and click on Options for the Spellbound extension. You will either get a message saying spell checker not enabled or a screen that confirms the dictionary is enabled.

6. When you post a reply on a Forum, right click on the reply page and select spell check.

Jim Blairgowrie I'm sorry if you read my previous post which I have now deleted. My intstructions may have been faulty, I've just had some errors and the Spellchecker no longer works. My apologies. But I will keep trying because it is needed for me too http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

No problem Howie A. I did see your earlier post.

I am intrigued! How do you know my first name is Jim?
