At least a GF4 Ti series. If you can then get a 9500 pro or higher. (9700/9800). Of course if you have boat loads of money, then get the GF FX 5900 Ultra.

AMD Athlon XP 1700+ T-Bred B
Epox 8K9AI
PC2100 512MB DDR
GeForce 4 Ti4600 128MB

Excellent suggestion, Quake. If you could afford it and if you really want to make FB look nice, consider purchasing a Radeon 9800 or 9700. It has yet to let me down and consistently gives my superb framerates on all of my games. The Nvidia fans will tell you otherwise but I still like ATI cards the best.

RADEON all the way. With Radeons you are guaranteed good shader performance, non-"cheat" drivers and excellent performance and unparallelled image quality.

the FX 5900 ULTRA will perform great too. Good performance and at most cases very good image quality. In many cases on par with the Radeons except for colours, antialiasing and trilinear filtering and is the obvious choice if you are into stereo3D gaming because of ATI:s non-existent stereo3D support.

Ooops, forgot. 9800 PRO and 5900 ULTRA is way overkill with your system.

Best bang for the buck would be the 9500 PRO I would think.

Hi Mike !

I have a G-4 Ti 4200 8X here and runs FB just fine . And the price for this video card is very good .
Remember that memory is also important as the video card .
I do have 1024 M memory here ( DDR ).

The best bang for the buck is the 9700 np, since it costs $200. And how are nVidias drivers cheating? lol, if you're talking about 3dmark (on which ATI cheated too), then who cares? You don't buy a video card to bench your system (especially with CRAP like Mark 03).

I would suggest nothing under a 9500 and another 512 of ram.. I have a similar system and I am running a 9000Pro128..it is eh...... I am going to upgrade either to a 9500Pro128 I saw for $179 at Comp USA , a 9600Pro128 for $199 or a 9800NP for $245. that will be it for me..... I already have a gig of DDR..... the 9000Pro just doesnt quite cut it though.... I would not recommend it.

Bearcat99,

You could easily purchase a good ATI Radeon 9700 PRO 128MB for aprox. US $200.00 at Ebay.com don't look further.

Bearcat you better get that 9800np, that's pretty damn cheap for that card. If not then go for the 9500 pro, better then the 9600 pro.

Top line 5900U or 9800PRO.

there are only two other GOOD options-the 9700pro or 9600pro. (9500pro if you can find one/i/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif .
