The planes that the two Czechs fly in the RAF are spitfires, are they not? Also, that first bomber they down is a He-111 right. I just want to make sure. Thanks.

I canâ´t remember what plane is the first they shoot down, but for sure a 111 or a Ju 88...as for what they fly, yes, Spits...

Cool, yeah I thought so. Thanks. This was a great movie by the way. Had lots of flying scenes. I would say 40-50% of the movie is airborne. Greatly recommend watching it.
May the wind sweep you off your feet, and guide you to the distant stars.

Tora Tora Tora is alsso nice, although older than Dark Blue World...Nevertheless, it has nice aerial combat scenes, and if I remember well, part of them are real combat scenes...

I love Memphis Belle.Ive always been fascinated by the big bombers, and MB is the only hollwood film I know of that covers them. I also have a very old documentary called Target For Today, which uses all original footage (I think its a WWII film actually). Im afraid I cant remeber who did it or if its still available but a quick google would probably settle that question.I fits still around, its well worth getting.

Funny you mention dark Blue World; it was on a movie channel yesterday. I saw the scene where one pilot crashed ina field and the Germans came. I have not seen the rest of the movie yet, though.

How did DBW do the flying scenes?
They were not the usual combat scenes one usually sees. Were some of the scenes re-touched from actual combat cine film?
