Yep there are still some.

- American ACs' altimeters are missing a 10000ft marker /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif
- Speed gauge in BI-1 is not showing speed correctly because the needle isn't placed it the gauge's center (IIRC it's too low)
- same for dive alt in Ju-87 (that one with 1000,2000,...6000 markings and the red needle @750m)
- In BI-1 several gauges are just not working, which of I don't know what they are
- Temperature gauges are off in some planes. One of them that comes into my mind first is the FW-190. Can't be just me /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif . It would be unlogical to have a 0-120‚?C temp gauge which can't tell you if you reached critical temp or not, as it's always on 120 when having 60%+ throttle. (Was also reported in Il-2 days /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif ) There are some more AC like P-39 (IIRC - at least it was in Il-2) having this, too.

Bump! /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

I know how hard it is to generate any interest in a gauge bug thread! See here!

http://oldsite.simhq.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=98;t=000340

The funny thing about all this is the P-39 has had this problem from the Leaked demo days & I never noticed it! And I'm somewhat of a gauges freak!

While we're on the subject of gauge bugs, does anyone know if the VSI in the P-11C is working correctly? it goes up when you dive & down when you climb. Am I missing something?

Cheers.......Smokin256

Aren't the artificial horizons in the p40/47 strangely stuck too?

To be really nitpicky...

1. Magneto dial in I-153 is animated wrong.
2. Magneto switches on Hurricane don't move when switching magnetos.

Willey, I can't verify if it is historically accurate, but the Temp guage in FW190 has been changed, fixed in my opinion. It is now possible to fly normally at 95-105 (not sure exact) at cruise settings (various radiator settings possible). Combat power will raise temps to 110-120deg (pegged), with emergency power rising 'beyond the peg' into the over heat zone. I would assume that 120-130 deg celsius would not be overheat (as it is now modeled) in an aircooled (oil only ) engine.

seem to recall the slip indicator not functioning in one of the yank tanks as well, possibly the P40 ... its been a while so i am not sure which one now

The slip indicator seems to work inversed in La 5/7.

Just to add one. /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-tongue.gif

well first of all the I153 (both variants) texture bug when damaged is very cruel:

http://www.informatik.fh-wiesbaden.de/~kpaka001/data/BUG001.jpg

then check the temp gauges of LaGGs ,which will move very fast towards maximum and are HOVERING into the gauge (needle isnt centered a bit like that FW bug)

damn , sometimes i feel like a beta tester in this game...

MW-50 pressure gauges (if that's what they are?) in the 109 K-4 and 190 D-9 not working.

Let's not forget the Mig 3 series (all of them I think) cockpit light bug. They have the needles in the instruments unlighted but the screws on the panel are. Makes fighting a real b*tch unless it is 12 noon. Even then they get hard to read if you are upside down or something. And besides all that, it is just plain stupid. I don't know why Oleg didn't fix that in the pre-alpha version of IL2.

As we all know, the Soviet Union had too many fighter pilots during WW2. So Stalin's scientists came up with a brillient way to solve this problem. They would make some of their pilots fly British made Hurricanes. The Hurricane was an uber flying coffin. It was designed to maximize pilot kills by providing nothing but fabric and a few wooden spars around the cockpit. This setup prevented the pilot from escaping easily while at the same time not interfering with enemy bullets and shrapnel trying to pass through it. The rest of the Hurricanes structure was designed to ricochet bullets and shrapnel into the cockpit. And thanks to the cockpits superb design, all of them would pass through the cockpit and the pilot inside with little difficulty. Of course the Hurricane's designers didn't stop there. In order for the Hurricane to become a flying coffin, they had to make it easy to shoot. They did this by making the Hurricane the slowest monoplane fighter in use at the time and even gave it a very bulky shape so that it would be easy to spot and hit. The final feature of the Hurricane was its ability to bury or cremate itself. And because it was made of biodegradable materials, the Hurricane was environmentally friendly after it buried itself. Because of these brillient features, the Hurricane was a perfect flying coffin and helped the Soviets solve the pilot surplus they were suffering.

Wait, the 109E's have ammo gauges?!?

Bump

Yep, the 109E had ammo gauges for wing cannons. It's on the lower left part of the dashboard, but it's not working.

Also, the P-40s LACK a fuel gauge. Something's misarranged there big time. The gauge should be where the ball&turn indicator is, and this one should be RIGHT of the speedmeter.

Did I mention the wrong ammo counters in FWs already?? They didn't show MG rounds in reality. ONLY wing cannons. And if there were no outer cannons, the outer counters showed empty. So easy.

The Flaps indicator is dead in FW-190 A-8,9 and F-8. Turn indicator doesn't work (since 1.1test05 or so already!)

*bump*. It would be nice to have all working guages working correctly when FB is "finished" in the next couple of months.

speaking about gauges, the I-153 does not have a fuel gauge.

Not exactly a gauge bug, but this seems a reasonable place to mention it. That's the inability to move your head and actually see some of the gauges eg, La altimeters (or is it MiGs..? hmm MiGs I think), compass in early IL-2s and clock (I think that's what it is) in I-16 [clock is very useful in online wars & for navigation in general]. There are probably others too.

Another thing I noticed: The La-5/7s got another climb indicator which shows up to 30 instead of 10m/s in the 1.1 patches. Why don't other planes like LaGG-3, or especially the Yaks which climb way better than 10ms have this one?
