Oh, in my brief onlince career I've been shot down a lot. Often, though, the pilot who killed me crashes just after he got me. Possibly due to the fact that I go to VERY low altitude to evade. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/59.gif

Been rammed a few times too. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

My best one so far was low-alt boming an ammo factory. I went "with a bang". http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_razz.gif

Last night, I thought I was doing kinda well on WarClouds_EF (1st time I flew there).

Having rarely flown the P-40E Field Mod for bombing, I got too low for the elevator authority to get me out. (it ain't no P-51 http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/35.gif )

Having never flown the La-5F before, I ripped off the wings in a dive twice and augured in chasing a 109. (I could hear him laughing at me from his cockpit http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/88.gif )

So that's three deaths that Mr. Ground was involved with.

Another was trying to finish the last set of ground targets to win the map, but the AAA damaged me to the point where my IL-2 was a sitting duck (no elevator or rudder control) to the protecting fighters, which prompty came in and finished me.

The last was target fixation when chasing a baddie and his wingman saved him by nailing me with cannons.

Otherwise, it was a fairly satisfying night. Got 6 trucks, 5 tanks, 3 AAA, 6-7 air kills, and wounded an He-111.

Usually plowing into the ground at 900 kph without any wings.

AAA is the overriding winner for me...including friendly AAA! If I were to put a value on it, I would say AAA deaths are easily equal to or higher than all the others combined.

I HATE AAA! (unless of course it's friendly fire helping to wipe off that pesky base-camper while on landing approach.)

Some time ago I was recording all the reasons for deaths when flying online to make me see my errors and to avoid the mistakes in the future.

AAA about sums it up. Hard to avoid if you are a dedicated ground pounder.

how about a option for geting gang raped 6 sec's from target by LA-7's

Earlier, I very freqeuntly flew into the ground on low-altitude manouvers due to loss spacial orientation, not just when trying to escape, but also when attacking... http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif

Nowadays, I decided to stay in the air and avoid stall as long as I can. So I die most frequently by enemy aircraft shedding my wing, blowing me up, or messing up the cockpit with my virtual blood http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/59.gif

I am rarely killed by AAA, because I respect AAA and a good barrel roll helps to reduce damage to engine or controls, but not loosing life. When torpedoing, I never fly over the ship...but rather make a hard turn to avoid it.

The funniest virtual death was when someone came to my 6 at very high speed, I was climbing slowy completely unaware, and when the attacker fired, he blew himself up as well http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/88.gif

I tend to only ground pound in the fastest thing available and in a dive, its the fighters on the way out that usually get me and not the AA.

Pilot kill in 9 out of 10, even if I don't get hit a single time. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-surprised.gif

I see you have unfortunate experiences with Lavochkins... but I'll tell you, there is no way we can speak of gang if we don't mention Focke Wulf.http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

I get assaulted by someone who's going faster than me - that's what happens everytime I get shot down -> low + slow = death http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/blink.gif

So far it is more other airplanes but a fair share of stupid nobrain stunts is also involved

flying betwin the masts and under the line on cargoships after a skipbombing or scaring some poor merchantmariner on allied side http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/59.gif 2 deaths (only when I am flying for fun)

shoot down by aaa when I attack there friends
hmm.. they got upset can`t imagin why http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/354.gif http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/59.gif

and some stalls and spinns in some stupid a$$ manuver I should know better not to do but try anyway

but it`s all good fun in the end http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

First online death... I roll to the runway, stop, look around for the enemy, prepare to apply full power... and then I see the biggest FW-190 I've ever seen, coming from the left at 100 kmh. I only had time to say Oh, Shi...

Strangest I think, was during an attack on a German convoy. It was a coop, and the Sturmo's were lacing the various trucks while the P39's held off the fighters. As I made a (too) low bombing pass, I looked up and saw another IL2 dropping Ptabs about fifty feet over me. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_eek.gif

I'd never seen them from that angle before but, before i could take evasive action, they did their job - on my right wing! Blew it off and threw me into one of those 'spin cycle' rolls and into the ground. My wingman wasn't amused at the "Friendly aircraft destroyed" message - but I wouldn't have missed seeing it, very spooky! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Thats easy....
Almost every death..not all but most...are caused by someone thinking I can be disturbed because I'm just "playing a game".
Someone needs a favor, or question answered, or the phone inturupts me(can't turn it off cause of work).

Never fails, noone wants me until I boot uo PF and log in to play, then I'm the worlds most needed individual

I am the king of getting shot down, once by my wingman as he loads up an la7 with mk108's, the subsiquent explosion tore my wings off, and killed my engine as i flew by his target

No doubt collisions, ramming etc lead the pack...I'd guess being shot down accounts for less than 20% of my deaths.

Most times shot down or crash into the ground after miscalculated stall manouvers while chasing down low.

All of the above..
Sometimes I just fly into the ground, trees, etc for no apparent reason, except that it's not a good idea to fly low, and reach for a glass of wine. I missed the billboard about 'Don't drink and fly'

Usually from sneaky 109s or 190s who just love the `shoot him when he doesn`t know I`m there` shot.

Especially annoying on Warclouds when often no Reds bother to warn you.

I remember I was flying along and a friendly passed me low on my 1 oc and continued on his way. A few seconds later `BAM` - I go down in flames from a 109 that had been following me. Now why couldn`t that friendly at least text a warning message, even if he wasn`t going to help?

Classic! I wonder why you reds never seem to help each other - this could have been me doing this to you only I never fly Bfs. Often I dive on a Spit & see his nearest friendly turn towards me but fail to warn his wingie - he just wants the kill but doesn't care for his friends.

Yea. The thing is, you see a friendly opposite you so you assume that if there`s an enemy near he`d tell you, so you tend to relax... big mistake on Warclouds.

To be fair, though, you get exceptions, yesterday I was regularly warned by a friendly of multiple bogeys. Unusual, but nice.

The other day I was having a nice little combat in a Spit Vc mit ein P38-L at 12,000ft. He was yo-yoing around but I was able to keep my guns on him as he came in so he would back off and have another go. I figured if he started coming in from a higher angle a couple of times I'd stall and he'd have a clear shot but he lost patience and committed to the attack against my four hispanos in a head on and we collided in a barrage of cannon fire. Disapointed I was with this outcome.

Pilot kills if I go on Warbirds (rarely), otherwise mindless target fixation accounts for me, one way or another, be it by ploughing into the ground while strafing(an old standby of mine),or by ramming my crippled target while trying to make him explode rather than just letting him get away somking.
