Guys tell me which card i should get. And also please state the reasons. The 6800GT seems to have very low clock speeds while that of the 6600GT is so HIGH!

These are my com specs:

Intel P4 2.66ghz
1gb ram
80gb harddrive
audigy 2 zs
Fx 5600 is my current card

Whcih card should i upgrade to? Because the price of the 6600 is seriously much less than that of the 6800. Also can anyone tell me when the prices of Nvidia cards the GeForce 6 ones should start dropping? Which card will benefit me more in the Long run? btw i use AGP

The 6800GT is probably the best bang for the buck available anywhere. It has 16 pixel pipelines, renders Shader 3.0 and is easily overclockable to 6800Ultra speeds. No brainer.

6800 GT has much more horsepower than the 6600. While both are ps3.0 capable, the 6800 is definitely the way to go. A friend of mine just got a 6600 and it's a good card for most applications, but for flight sims and more serious gaming the big three are where it's at: Processor/RAM/Video Card

If there is truly an option, I'd say opt for the 6800 hands down.

6800GT is waaay more powerful than a 6600.

Don't fall into the megahertz myth. Just because something is clocked at 3.0 ghz [cough] Intel [cough] doesn't mean that it won't be outperformed by something of a lower clock speed.

The architecture of any piece of hardware is what really matters.

Now, to answer your question...
It is quite a difficult choice, because if you intend to stick with your current system, your CPU will become eventually a bottleneck, and the improvement will not be signifficant with the much more expensive 6800GT. a 6600Gt roughly gives you the performance of an ATi 9800XT. and I think this will keep your rig balanced. I think you could spend the money on TFT display/TrackIR 3/Pedals/Saitek X-52/Life. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

Edit:

I just found this article - 6800/6600GT/ ATi 9800pro with Pentium processors (http://www.firingsquad.com/hardware/geforce_6600_GT_scaling_performance_pentium4/), which gives valuable information on what you should expect.
