we did a hour test with both Doras.. they are now off 30-40 kph at altitude top speed.. most we can only get around 640ish both 44 -45 top speed is like 685 in real life ...... we tried every radiator setting and auto versus different manual pitch.. this is 50% fuel.. and full ammo... plus this 640 we got is like TOP speed for only like a few seconds becuase the engine will blow from heat... as a side note.. LA 7 is MAJOR fast.. they can catch Dora now.. and blow it down at 6000 meteres plus now HAHAHAH ,,, why does oleg hate german planes??? theres a track record of this "german plane" problem now /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-sad.gif

Maybe because La-7s really are faster than Doras at low altitudes?

we tested at "altitude" meaning 5000 to 7000 meters :/

XyZspineZyX
09-05-2003, 04:38 AM
I also tested it at altitude.

5500m, error range of +/- 50m

Speed variances - 685~695km/h TAS

..

Spot on, with what the object viewer claims.
(w/MW50 - 690km/h @ 5,500m)

opps.. well hes dead wrong go see for yourself.. dont take my or his word for it.. goto 6500 try a speed test

XyZspineZyX

lol, no ur the one who is dead wrong.

Took me all of less than 1 minute to see that Dora '44 is still faster than object viewer says.

703kph at 6060m and that in a slight climb. And still accelerating.

I did notice that roll stability with the auto leveler was kinda odd, I don't remember it taking so long to stabilize before.

Once again FW190D9 '44 110% throttle + WEP radiator closed Crimea map prop pitch auto, wind/turbulence off, cockpit off, all else FR, 703kph TAS at 6060m and climing and accelerating (at that point it started to overheat and it was clear the plane was still way fast so I quit the test).

who flies online with wind/turbulance off ? isnt that an arcade setting? try FULL realism

XyZspineZyX

LA7=423mph top speed
FW190A9=408mph top speed
FW190D9=440mph top speed
Yak9U=435mph top speed
BF109K4=452mph top speed
P-47D=430mph top speed

And with that 'full real', I suppose you also took the proper steps needed in 'full real'-ish speed testing, friend gwalker?

1.you find a spot where turbulence is not present in the air?

2. you find the direction of wind layers, so they do not interfere with testings?

Turning off turbulence and wind does not effect the plane itself. It'd just provide an ideal test condition. Besides, if wind and turbulence act against your plane to a certain extent, it also effects other planes.

I reached the object viewer speed too. You have to manually close the radiator or you won't get there. So there goes another misconceived allegation of bias.

Generally, the top speed of the 190D-9 '44 model is usually reported to be about 426mph.

Also, the A-8's top speed was reported to be about 408 mph, not the A-9's. I've never seen a reported top speed for the A-9 but it stands to reason that the A-9 had a higher top speed as it had a more powerful engine. There were very few A-9's produced and this is likely the reason info is scarce on it. I think it says in the object viewer in FB that the speeds of the A-9 were taken from computations/estimates.

where were you when P-40 was 100mph (note: Miles and not Km) then its max speed, with 1.0 version and when with 1.1b patch was out it was made faster but it's sill 50-60mph slower than it should be, HUH?

Why none of you Luftwhinners ever mentioned that, aye?

XyZspineZyX
09-06-2003, 06:30 AM
Because we couldn't care less about P-40s?

You expect people to address every plane's problems when they want to mention something?

You couldn't care less? /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-indifferent.gif

Why should I care then about Fw-190 being 40kmph slower when my P-40 is 50mph being slower?

You have no reason to care. We're not addressing you. The posts are intended for the developers to see, and if people are interested in it to agree or disagree by proving factual points, then they'll have a place in the discussion.

Whereas you jump in with an insulting "you are hypocrites(you care about yours, and don't care about mine)" whiney-attitude, the moment you see a thread about someone posting something they think is wrong, which does not even concern the plane of your interest(or does it?).

If you don't have something to contribute, then why are you here in this thread in the first place? To insult?

Get a grip, friend.

I wonder if this means the default radiator settings big is fixed. That's the one where if you just left the radiator alone you would get same drag as closed and same coolong as open -- and only affected some of the planes?

Now it has to be set manually to make speed tests and no phony benefits... if it's fixed?

We will see next week when the correct patch file is out?
