None. Every hour not spent at work or with the family is spent in FB/AEP/PF. There's enough to do between flying, creating missions and skinning that I'd have no time for another game. As for other flight sims....there's none better than this IMO. I'm now well into my third year with this sim as the ONLY game installed on my computer.

Me myself played a lot of close combat (2) and the total war series, when it's not sims. Capt Loneranger and Masaker, how's silent hunter 3?

I spent a lot of time with CloseCombat series, too. Wonder what the next step will be like. Soldiers is good, but to far into roleplaying to really be a substitute for CloseCombat.

SH3 is great, a really good game. The graphics are awesome and the atmosphere is brilliant. If you ever watched "Das Boot", you'll feel like home instantly.
The dynamic campaign is nice and the career-mode keeps you playing for a long time. Giving medals and promotions to your team and watching your crew getting better and better is just great. Same is for the upgrades you can get for your submarine, or even "buy" better boats for your renown. On the other hand, you'll have a more difficult job with every patrol, as the enemy gets better equipment, too.

However, the game is not perfect (what man-built thing is?). The lack of ships in harbours is a real pitty, though it seems to be solved with the new patch 1.4. There are some other minor bugs, too, but the support is great and because the game is modable, there are over a dozen addons and customizations available.

A great game, definitly, but be prepared to dive into this game and only realize you followed that convoy for 3-4 hours realtime, when you check time after a yet another patrol. And trust me, you'll want to do the next right away http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

I've read reviews of SH3. A few suggest it's a contender for game of the year.

My only prblem is I'm not sure I'd enjoy it's gameplay mechanics.

As far as other games I have to agree with Feathered_IV. I optomistically install games. Some stay on. Others don't last or if I reformat the hard drive they never make it back.

Genre wise I like racing games. ('Need for Speed' need not apply) Few stay on very long. I wish I had started my computer experience earlier so I could have taken advantage of Grand Prix Legends. With all the patching necessary, plus I need to have my comp running smooth with no corruption for work, I decided not to go down the GPL road. Next comp I'll try it.

But invariably I come back to IL2 no matter how long I vacation from it.

My other guilty pleasure is on Playstation. I like the Tomb Raider series. The virtual exploration and discovery is interesting. It's a bit hoary with age now so the lustre is off but there are a lot of good gameplay memories for me.

IL2 is primary, but RTW is the next one with UT2004 which I touch maybe once a month or 2. It`s so tempting to run other games such as Morrowind, SHIII (which is excellent btw), but there simply isn`t enough time in one`s life.

Some quality games can really take up a good chunk of your life, so it`s essential to select a very limited few so you don`t burnout on one and have space to get on with your real life. Which after all is the one that really counts. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

I chose "Other". Aside from this sim, I'm mostly a Role Playing Game player (Morrowind, Neverwinter Nights, Dungeon Siege, the Japanese RPGs on the consoles, etc.). Not MMORPGs, though. I won't shell out any more money after buying the game in order to play it.

Right now, I am also playing GTA: San Andreas on the PC.

I have to vote RTS's as through the years, these are the ones I've spent the most time and money on. However, I really like the Close Combat games and go back to them from time to time. Flight sims are no better than third for me.

Cribbage, Darts, 3-card Brag, Rummy, Euchre, Monopoly. There's more to games than PCs I'm glad to say.
On the PC however, Il-2 etc etc keeps me going just fine.

Cheers!

All the Total War games (Medieval is my personal favourite);
UT2004/Red Orchestra;
A bit of Day of Defeat;

...and I'm *still* shamefully addicted to Diablo 2: Lord of Destruction. God knows how many hours I have spent playing it.

FB/PF is still number one by far though http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Flightsims (IL-2 serie, Lock-on, Strike Fighter, FS9)
Subsims (SH3, Sub Command)
Strategic (Fleet Command, Harpoon)

As you might have noticed, I like to play the more realistic stuff, although I've finished Starship Titanic, X-wing and Homeworld.

COD UO
MOH series
SH3
Tried Red Orchestra...too many key binding cheats like old MOH stuff. Though I like the Iron sights aspect.

I'll try BF2 but suspect it will end up with all my other BF games (not used)

All kinds of historical wargames ranging from Napoleonics (Talonsofts' series) to detailed WW2 (Steel Panthers: World at War.
SH3
and when I want to blow off stema in a safe, controlled manner I play FarCry and see how many bad guys I can kill with just the knife and handgun. Now that's immersion. Very relaxing.

Oh yeah, ZooTycoon against the kids - we are a competitive family.

None. Although SH3 sounds good but then again I spend WAY too much time in front of a computer playing Il2 as it is.
A good ww2 tank sim would float my boat. Is there one?
