Personally i've never looked back since purchasing my ff joystick for FB it gives the game an amazing addition, that while i didn't have it, i didn't miss, but now that i do have it i will miss if i ever have to use a regular non-ff joystick again.

How many of you guys use force feedback to play Il2/FB? and do you like it?

have had it since day one. love it.

have turned it off to see difference. did not like as much with it off.

aiming was easier becasue you didnt have the recoil of the guns to deal with as much.

love my old stick. Would like some extra buttons like on the X36/45 but don't want to give up the feel9 of approaching stalls etc.

Yeah I like my MS Sidewinder FF2 very much... http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif With FF enabled I can feel my plane better...

It's much better with FF. Not so much for the gun rattle (although it is cool) but because you can "feel" the plane. I couldn't fly the FW-190 at all before, stalled every time I touched the stick. With FF you can feel the vibrations building up before the stall and have much better control over the aircraft. The resistance the stick offers really puts you in the game. Great immersion.

I thought it was just a gimmick and would be annoying after a while but it's exactly the opposite. It's right up there with a bigger screen and faster video card for must have additions.

I paid $160 Cdn. for my MSFF2 and it was worth every cent. Flying without it would feel very... mooshy.

I have an MSFF2, and I can't even play without FF on - planes flop around too much, I don't always know when I'm getting hit, and I rely on the stick to tell me that I'm about to stall. And I'm not saying that just for the benefits it gives - I also expect to shake around when I alpha strike in a FW-190A, or jump up when I release a large bomb, etc. It's a part of the experience and feeling like you're actually flying a WWII combat plane. IMO, FB is too realistic to not have a "realistic"-feeling stick as a part of it. Flying at high/full real with a stick that makes it feel like a video game just doesn't work for me.

I have X-45 but I'm considering to buy MS FFB2 and keep the X-45's throttle part. The main reason is because I miss twist rudder that I used to have on MSFFB pro. /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-sad.gif

I disabled FFB because I need to toggle out of game, and this screws it up.

So, I use the MS FFB2 without FFB for this game.

I'm using the MS sidewinder FFB2, with a pre-ffb sidewinder set up for engine controls and trim. The ffb, once you fly with it, is almost mandatory. You can definately feel when you're about to stall.. lets you push the envelope much better, and improves your overall performance, regardless of plane. The shake from large caliber weapons is unsettling, especially since FB already shakes the screen. The table I have my computer set up on is a bit jittery, so when I fire the big guns, I get LOTS of headshake, virtual and real (from my monitor shaking because of the FFB). And with the TrackIR on along with the FFB, it's very immersive.
