I had no luck with this question in Community Help, so I'll try here:

I could do with some advice please. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
I'm doing a new install of the game on a new computer using Complete Edition and adding BoE and then the BoE patch (including the new Dgen).

I am moving these files to the Complete Addition:

Missions
Paint schemes
Quicks
records
Users
WTCF stuff (When tigers Could Fly info')

Also
conf (conf.ini)

My questions are:
1). Should I also move the Dgen and Ngen files (that I have marked in the picture) to the new install?
2). Should I replace these files before or after I have installed the BoE patch with the new Dgen?
3). Is there anything else I should be doing?

What do you wish to achieve by doing the file transfer of dgen & ngen? Are you trying to transfer active campaign data?

The DGen folder only has the ops and dat files for all the DGen campaigns; saving and moving this should save you the effort of reinstalling BoE and any other DGen campaigns you might have on your computer (TruePacific, OstFront, Enhanced Eastern Front, The Last Days, Disaster on the Frontiers, DGen 4043 Upgrade, etc.) espeically if you are already moving your entire skins folder over as well. What it won't do is move over your career stats.

If you're wanting to keep/restore your campaigns that are in progress and your control settings, move your "users" folder also. I know that has your personal controls settings at least. You should also move over the Conf.ini document.

So save and then move over:
1. DGen folder (with all your ops and dat files)
2. PaintSchemes folder (to keep all your custom skins and pilots)
3. Missions folder (for any custom awards pics, backgrounds and single missions)
4. Users folder (has your campaign records and your controls settings)
5. conf.ini document (has your DGen settings plus display options)
6. DGen, DGen2 adn DGen3 text docs -- I'm not sure if these save anything important for continuing campaigns in progress. Probably just scratch pads but they're only a couple of kbs each so why not move them over?

Consider also moving over:
6. Samples folder, or at least any custom speech packs you've added like the Italian speech pack
7. DGen.exe (if it is version 4.0.4.5)
8. Records folder (if you have tracks you'd like to keep)

I'm trying to keep intact all my campaigns after a complete reinstall to a new computer using the Complete Edition. I wish to keep all my missions and campaigns etc. I want the game to remain as it is at the moment (before the move) but with the benifit of my newer and faster computer.

Just to be sure...Will I really need to move the Ngen.exe if I'm downloading the big boE patch (with Dgen update)?
Would this overwrite anything from the said BoE patch (ie. is there a newer Ngen.exe in there that I should avoid overwriting)?

Sorry if this is a stupid question, but I'm not very knowledgeable about these things. I want to be sure I don't overwrite anything that comes with the BoE patch if I replace the files you mentioned after installing the (BoE) patch.

If you install BoE from disc after you install the complete DVD version, BoE will put an outdated version of NGen.exe into your game folder.

When I originally compiled the BoE+DGen 4043 compilation that is hosted at CombatAce.com, I accidently put an outdated version of NGen.exe in. Later I corrected that and included the NGen.exe that came in the PF_v303m patch, which is version 3.1.1.4. -- I put it in a separate zip file inside the compilation. Check the version that you currently have in your game folder. Since you have the complete edition, you should have NGen.exe v3.1.1.4.

OstFront updates NGen.exe to 4.0.0.0. I don't know if Pe-2 updates it beyond that version.
