Mission rotation on FinskaViken1

A seven-mission rotation has been implemented on the Finskaviken1 IL2FB dogfight-server on HyperLobby. The missions will be on the server until atleast the end of March. We hope that players will test the missions actively and comment on the functionality as well as the scenario setups. The feedback will be analysed after the test period and future missions will be built taking into account all the feedback.

The missions have been scripted with IL2SC. The missions rotate automatically every eight hours unless either side completes their mission goals. Winning a mission primarily requires the destruction of enemy ground targets. Missions cannot be won by only shooting down airplanes. This encourages players to support their ground forces by bombing and correspondingly to intercept enemy bombers. This hopefully promotes a balanced gameplay environment. Furballers may, if they wish, dogfight to their hearts content without it affecting the course of the battle.

FinskaViken1 now features the following missions:

Recapture of Karelia 1941
Kommando Philipp 1942
Lavansaari "Revohka" 1943
Sea Front in Flames 1943
Stalin's Fourth Strategic Offensive 1944
Finis Finlandiae 1944
A Repel Victory 1944

FinskaViken2 features the familiar Kotka-mission.

Happy testing!

Not too many of them last night. As our 3-ship of A-20s plus La-5 pair escort returned home we saw the 4-5 Ju-88 formation heading home with its escort. There were more bombers in the air on both sides than fighters and you don't see historical ratios of fighters to bombers very often in online games! Some great missions flown last night. Like the look of the scenarios I've seen so far. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif
