Hi All;

The WWII photo thread seemed to inspire another, so what say we post pics often that become landmarks and sadly now many are going to the scrapheap of WWII (or other era) equipment put to less then dignified uses around the world (but kewl to see never the less)......The pic that inspired this was one posted here about a year ago by "I can't remember who"......Try to add to them any update info you may have or even web links....

Hey - If that's "Bomber Gas" on the way from downtown Portland to Milwaukee (Ore.) I used to pass it every day. Now when I was a kid in the 60's it was in pretty bad shape, but once I got to go inside! Now in the late 70's somebody had actually cleaned it up and it looked pretty good. Haven't lived in Portland since 82', but it might still be there. Flashback time http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Found this picture the other day. I think it should be the mascot for the ready room based on the plane code.

One of three atomic cannon in existence.

It is on a hill across I-70 from Fort Riley, Kansas. There's a few other odd items in that park (only one I can remember for sure is an M-114 APC), plus several other guns/AFVs in Ft. Riley proper outside the 1st ID museum.

Another pic of her in her prime. Things were still B&W like this when Beebop first saw her http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

They have closed the servo and opened a restaurant and are conducting a full restoration on the B-17, one piece at a time. At present the nose has been removed and restored and is on display inside the building where the restaurant is
